Best way to learn is to play some random MM games. Bot games are great for last hitting and learning moves, but positioning and item builds are best learned through MM. I'm more than happy to cue with you guys and give some advice! Jump into mumble and look for me (same name) |

Alright Doobs, it's in-house tournament time. I've mentioned this idea to a few people and they're for it, so I thought I would just throw it to everyone and see the response I get.
I'm proposing a Random Draft Tournament. Basically, everyone who wants to participate responds to the thread or PM me. I'll then take the list of participants, go to random.org, and completely randomize the teams. Teams will be made two weeks before the tournament, giving 2 weeks for the teams to play together. We will then have a single elimination tournament on a Saturday or Sunday with Steam cash being awarded to the winners. Here's the timeline I'm thinking of: July 7: Final day to enter July 8: Posting of team July 28/29: Tournament I'd like to keep this semi in-house for the time being. Tell your friends, etc, but let's not post to reddit or anything like that. If we can get 6 -7 teams, I think this would be a lot of fun! Also, make sure to mention the idea to people on Mumble who don't necessarily come onto the forums!! |

I'm going to be recruitment drive over the next few weeks. Expect more players to be joining our ranks. Anything you need help with? We've gotten a few more people jumping into mumble. I think getting a tournament going might be the way to go. Also, I don't think we're friends on steam. Haven't seen you on dota in forever. |

Posted by Ampharos There was one hero I played with and like, Viper. He is a carry and his poison is awesome, his ult literally melts opponents. Liking him so far, and I have played skeleton previously, only thing with him is he is melee. And as I have found in Dota 2 so far, melee are gonna have a hard time. The ranged carries seem pretty OP, Sniper and that electric ring person to name a few. Yeah, Viper's a fun hero to play. Melee heroes definitely take a bit more to get used to, figuring out when to go in for a last hit and not take harass, etc, but are also insanely fun to play. Sniper is also really fun to play (if you have good support!!!) and Razor (electric ring guy) is also super fun. As many have mentioned, just hop on the mumble server and join in on a few games. I played a few bot games when I started, but ended up just jumping in and haven't looked back since! Welcome! |

I do really need to work on my last hits/denies i am pretty bad at timing them. I have recently tried Disruptor a bit, and I like his mechanics, so i have been enjoying him. A fellow support player? Awesome:P The best thing you can do when you're first starting is to try every hero at least twice. I remember when I was at only 50 hours and you already seem way ahead of me! I barely knew what I was doing half of the time. In fact, I think I'm at about 350 now and I still barely know what I'm doing. Looking forward to a few games this weekend! |
