Windrunner is baller as shit. She's my favorite hero, especially suicide-lane solo. She hits like a truck (50 base damage at level 1, 600 range, moderate attack speed) early on, has a massive skill-shot nuke, and a great escape mechanism (THAT CAN BE USED TO ATTACK). Couple that with shackleshot for the mid game, and some mobility items she's completely unstoppable and versatile.

Thanks! You can take a look at my competitive casts here: http://www.youtube.com/user/loveisdeaddota

Might want to take the advice in the DN games with a grain of salt... I'm sure I'm wrong about a number of things from those casts, as I started doing them before I learned a lot more about the game.

Welcome to the fun-house. Jump on mumble and find some people for a game a bit later in the day. Usually a good amount of people on.

BearHug, what the fuck is that in your avatar!? Holy shit I'm now dead.

On a more serious note, we consider mean players to be "Rolling", "Hating", and generally "Riding Dirty." The frown police is on patrol.

Hey guys, I made a few casts of the games from last Sunday and uploaded them to youtube. There should be three of them, but I think I uploaded the wrong one as one of the videos is only 1 minute long. I'll fix that when I get home, unless I can manage to get to it tonight on my phone.

Here's the two that are uploaded:

One thing that I have noticed with the inhouses is that people will build an optimal team without the people to fill the roles. i am comfortable with the group and am able to speak up with my preferences, but newer people may not have the comfort level. I think that its important to communicate what sort of strategy we will be attempting with a clear definition of the role expected from each character. As a captain, one should remember the varying skill levels in the group and make sure that no player is forced to play a character with which they are not comfortable or do not enjoy.

This is an amazingly complicated thing to do for even an experienced drafter. Just selecting the proper heroes for a certain strategy within the time limit is overwhelming. The main thing I'd like to express though, is that drafting inhouses under captains mode is a no-pressure environment and I understand that there are heroes people are completely uncomfortable with, but everyone should be open to trying something new, even if it doesn't work out. There's no way for a captain to learn 4 different people's list of comfortable heroes in the time it takes to draft.

Unless the game is AP at least one or two people are going to likely be playing heroes they are unfamiliar with, and that's okay. While you shouldn't draft Chen, Anti-Mage, Tinker, Leshrac, and Beastmaster as a captain, players should feel comfortable to step outside of their toolkit of heroes and try something new. That's how we all get better.

I would like it if everyone checked the waiting room for people, but your best bet is to jump into one of the sides and quickly introduce yourself and ask if you can get on someone's friend list to spectate the match. I'm sure someone will respond. That's how I get into the next game, anyways. It does involve waiting and watching for a game to end, but its the only way I can ensure I'll be in the next one, since even if I ask someone to invite me to the next one they may either forget or log off after the match.

Usually people get involved in conversation after the match and it slips their mind to check (or even start a new lobby in some cases). It would be great if they remembered, but unfortunately it doesn't always happen.

Even if we were to rename it to "Looking to Play," I still can't guarantee people are going to check after the match.

If you want to make some guides and you've got the time to do it, you should make the guide.
