Posted by fallenelf86 Posted by TechSupprt Well it looks like for some of us (ahem) we will be experiencing and extra scoop of fail-sauce on our plate. I think i will get my big-boy pants out and parade in them for the next few days so I can have a faint image of what it felt like to be manly. On a side note. Why does Jakiro live in Snufflandia? Is he not afraid of Snuffoloponous? I am! Jakiro resides in Snufflandia because he was chased out of the mythical land of Spain by the horrible banditos he was trying to fight. Jakiro was a young dragon, and made the mistake of bedding the wrong banditos daughter and was driven out of his country. He plots and plans for the day he can return and claim his love, Mirana's mount. And along the way to Snufflandia Jakiro met Lina and Crystal Maiden. Along the way the three of them wrote A Song of Ice and Fire under the fake name of George R.R. Martin. The wolves of the series of course being based on the leader of the banditos, Lycanthrope. And that my friends is why Lycanthrope still resides in Snuffleopolis. Wait....where were we? |

That is the latest version of the client (as of 04/17/2013), if you don't have that one it won't work. Someone is required to host the games, so we would need someone who has good enough internet to handle it with us to make this work I think. I read that they are working on getting dedicated servers that would be up at all times for people to play on, but I don't think they have it yet. However, I am at work and cannot look into it much right now. |

Posted by fallenelf86 This isn't a bad idea. We did tavern CM matches a few weeks ago, with each team picking from a specific tavern, but matched Str v STR, AGI v AGI and INT v INT. It was pretty fun. I think the VOD is up on our youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83dsNXIapYU That is only the Int vs Int game. Unfortunately I didn't highlight that one so the game doesn't start until like 20ish minutes. I will upload the other 2 games tonight as highlights of only the game, less wasted time. |

I am confirmed as going. As for the $20 entrance fee I believe that is only for the tournament and not the overall LAN get together. However you may have to pay to rent a PC if you are not in the tournament. That is how I took it but correct me if I am wrong.

Hey guys,
According to the d2Ware team I got my membership today. I can't check while I am at work but I will later tonight. What this means is I should be able to host private lobbies to avoid the hassle of having us all race into the game. I am planning on being around Saturday night at around 9 PM EST and was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a variety of fun game types. We did quite a few last night and it was rather amusing. We discovered that Dispersion + Bristleback at x2 = Invulnerable from behind. I was thinking of doing some more Fighting Chance/OMG/Dota x2 to start out. We could then maybe go into some more serious things like -DM (DeathMatch = new hero every time you die). Let me know if anyone else is interested in this! -Prettypenguins |

OOC: Summarizing some spontaneous role-play Orb, Riot, and I did on roll20 today.
As the battle fades everyone talks of the gold and the chainmail. Daelius hears some fussing about in back by the horde of kobolds that lays fallen in the cavern. He discovers Fizzwig looting corpses and taking what he wants. A little while passes and he wanders outside and sits by the campfire that Fizzwig has prepared for himself and Meek. They begin to chat and Baelfius weary from striking the wall during battle decides to join them, still slightly dazed from the events before. The Tieflings convince Fizzwig that Gnome is a delicacy to Tieflings and maybe they should roast him up for a good strong meal. Daelius puts an end to their jest and the topic of cultists comes up. Their attention is on Fizzwig as he recounts the tale of stealing a relic from a group of cultists around Winterhaven and barely escaping "unscathed." After some idle chatter by the fire Daelius and Baelfius promise to help Fizzwig learn what these cultists may have done to him and Fizzwig decides to catch a little bit of rest. As Daelius stands up to approach the rest of the group..... Baelfius: We shall have a few words for these cultists brother Tiefling In Character: To Baelfius as I walk away, "Being a Tiefling does not make you my brother. That is something that must be earned." I walk up to Rolen and the rest of the party, "Rolen, may I see the note for myself, I would like to read it again. Everyone, I believe we must talk of this note that was found, rumors of Shar should not be taken lightly. Do any of you know anything of a cult of Shar in the area around Winterhaven that may aid us in this undertaking?" |

"I did not sense any magical properties about it and the only markings are this colorful gemstone. Although I noticed some strange effects as I continued to talk with Fizzwig after you had gone Pale Noon. He was very convinced I knew the best thing to do with this ring." I convinced him to tell all of us what he knows and it appears that this is some sort of ring of persuasion.
Daelius has set his sword on the pew next to the cultist leader and sat down to watch over him. |

Daelius, still sitting with his greatsword out and keeping a watchful eye on this cult leader.
Noticing Galstaff going through many of the books and making notes of what was found, "Thank you for keeping note of all that we find during our adventures. I am sure we would all appreciate if you were able to keep an account of our money and findings while we are out adventuring. Feel free to take care of that now if you wish, the cult leader is not going anywhere for the time being." Before Galstaff leaves Daelius shows him the ring that was found and asks if he might take a quick look at it to see what kind of magical properties it truly contains. If possible I would like to use this ring in the interrogation of the cultist and then we can decide who gets to hold onto it permanently. Daelius notices Ruhsbaar and a few guards walk in, "Ruhsbaar, you have missed the battle my friend. I see you have alerted Lord Paedrig to the situation at hand. The cult leader is tied up and unconscious. Also there was a necklace with symbols of Shar on it that I believe Fizzwig is walking around with somewhere. I am sure you could ask him to see it later if you would like. Guards, what would you like us to do with this cultist in the meantime? Does Lord Padraig desire to be present when we interrogate him." |

*scoffs at Ruhsbaar* He is always more interested in religious artifacts than the well being of his companions and friends. Before picking up Bairwin and carrying him out of the temple I turn to the party as I remember something about this ring of persuasion.
I studied these rings a bit when I was first at the Temple of Torm in Cormyr. Certain evil cults will use the rings in order to amass a following of their god. The rings give a certain edge in persuading others to do what you want. They do this by lowering the will of the wearer in order to better understand what others are thinking and desiring. It is not direct mind reading or anything but it does allow the wearer to more easily influence others around him when activated. These rings typically serve an evil purpose and invade the minds of others for your own gain. Maybe it is possible that one of you can use this ring for a more righteous purpose but I will have no part in it. And I ask that you do not use it on the rest of the party for these rings are more evil than good by nature. I set the ring down on the pew in front of me and leave it for the others. "I will watch over Bairwin and see what information I can get from him about the cult in the nearby area. When it is done, I will make sure we do not have to worry about this cultist anymore. Be careful down here, it is filled with evil." I assist the guard in bringing Bairwin up to Lord Padraig. As for gold and loot, I think that anyone who acquires a piece of loot shall be forfeited the price of the loot. However, this is limited to gold made during the encounter that it dropped and not ones personal wallet. Pale Noon is forfeiting 500 gp from the fight with Irontooh and since he did not earn that much from that encounter, he is forfeiting his share of that ONE fight. That is the end of it, no debt to us. That is what I see is fair. OOC: I was able to do a religion check on the ring and get the information above. An encounter power that gives a bonus to dip/bluff/etc at the cost of your will defense. A successful arcana check may lead to more information. |

Prior to heading to the inn for the night.
Daelius and Pale Noon walk over to the general store where the Temple to Shar had been located. Daelius leading the way pushes his way through a crowd of on-lookers who are curious what is going on in their town. Daelius "Pale Noon, Bairwin had said the object that Fizzwig stole was behind the counter. Why don't you go have a look for it and let me know what you find." Pale Noon "It doesn't seem like anything is here, maybe one of the other cultists took it before coming after us" Daelius "No no, we checked their bodies. It has to be here....let me have a look" As Daelius walks back he steps on a floorboard that appears to be lose and reaches down to pry it up. Beneath is an object wrapped in some sort of cloth. Daelius quickly unwraps it to see if it is indeed what Fizzwig had described to him back by Irontooth's cave. He pulls out a black stone with odd markings on it. There are indeed markings of Shar on this stone, however there also appear to be markings of an arcane nature that neither Pale Noon or Daelius can make out. Pale Noon "Maybe Galstaff will be able to decipher the use of this stone, for now why don't you hold onto it Daelius and we will wait for their return." Pale Noon heads over to the Drunken Druid Tavern to grab some dinner and mead while Daelius briefly heads over to the temple to pray and reflect on the days events. Sister Lenora gives him a quick nod but notices Daelius' stern looking face and decides to let him pray in silence. Daelius enters the tavern and sees Pale Noon sitting in a corner enjoying his dinner. Daelius requests the same and makes a poorly formed joke about how she should not serve the monk when he returns. Paladins are not known for their humor, and Daelius is no exception and so he wanders over to Pale Noon to enjoy his own dinner. At this point Pale Noon checks the room for some pretty ladies but instead wanders over to a horse in front of the tavern and attempts to hit on it. Daelius "Maybe we should just reside here at our table until the others return, it appears that the mead is impairing your judgment already." |

I think the tension is fine, our characters are not meant to get along all the time. But that doesn't mean we should just disagree and move on, why not ask Daelius what would compel him to do such a thing? Why not talk to Fizzwig about stealing from party members.
I have never played DnD before, or RPed for that matter (probably obvious). But I do know it sometimes gets hard to respond to things that are going on when we are so quickly moving on to the next shenanigan (and please, no one take this the wrong way, I am completely amused and I enjoy the back and forth it can create). I think we need to make room for everyone to try and throw out some RP in response to any IC tension that might arise. Like Uno was saying above, we need to respect the players on both sides of a disagreement. Daelius is not meant to be super secretive, he is open to chat if anyone asks him about Torm or his morals. Sorry, it is late and this was the best explanation of my thoughts I could do. Feel free to ask me further. |

Pertaining to the execution of the goblin:
Daelius turns his attention to the goblin that lay dying on the torture table. He wonders what the goblin must have done to deserve this sort of punishment and torture from his own people. Although he is not surprised for he has seen what the cultists of the evil gods can do firsthand and this is no different. His thoughts wander to his childhood, to the Temple of Torm and how he was given refuge there and taught the ways of law and duty. His duty is now to the good people of Faerun and to protecting the weak. But this is a goblin and given the choice he would find a new clan to follow and cause more trouble for this world. There are two options, take days to help this goblin recover from his grievous wounds and enslave yet another creature to the will of our party, although he knows there is not even enough time to mend the goblin. The second choice however, a swift and painless death that will free him from his torture. What more could a goblin deserve. He snaps back to the scene at hand, the rest of his companions still looking over the corpses, the room, or the armor that was found. Dealius raises his greatsword above his head and in one decisive action brings it down upon the goblin, completely separating the head from the body as it rolls softly towards the coals in the back of the room. Daelius kneels down and says a prayer to Torm, "My duty is complete this day...." He grows quieter and can barely be heard over the ruckus of the party. Until Rolen notices what has just transpired..... Rolen Kittenstouch: Tiefling morality leaves something to be desired. Daelius: And what do you mean by Tiefling morality? You think all us Tieflings hold to the same book of morality, we all fight with the same code of honor? |

Daelius: And you seem to claim the highest moral code because you grant mercy in the form of unending service to others. I would rather die than be condemned to a life of slavery. Or do you plan on creating a society where the hobgoblins are in charge, I believe we have seen what that leads to and I know that I have. This goblin was in severe pain, he was dying and during the chaos of the fight we injured him more. Every second I held my sword idle was more pain that he must endure. We stormed into here and slayed tens of his kind without a moments notice, but this one had to live? I gave him mercy in the form of a quick death.
Do you truly think it is easy for me to slay an unarmed, wounded creature? There is no honor when one cannot defend himself, but that does not mean there is no mercy. I was kneeling and praying to Torm to give me guidance on what must be done, and to forgive me if I may have acted to brashly. I do not merely claim life of a Paladin, Torm commands us to cut out the heart of corruption, to vanquish evil. Although he posed no threat to us immediately, there was no freedom we could grant him that would not pose a threat to other people of Faerun, who I have sworn to protect. However, I would like to apologize to you and the rest of the party if I have seemed to do anything that betrayed you. I did not lie to the party, I went and prayed in Winterhaven and then met with the Lord because he had expressed trust in me. I did not want to startle him by mobbing him with everyone right behind me, but I had no intent of keeping anything secret and would gladly tell you anything you ask of me. This party has done little other than insult me for being a Tiefling, steal from me, and show me no hint of respect or trust. It is hard for me to seek your counsel when you do not even care what I have to say. |
