Never even heard of Dark Souls... wasn't that like a three player D&D game on PS2?

You might be thinking about Demon Stone, which was a forgotten realms game on PS2/XBOX/PC. Dark Souls is a "sequel" to Demon's Souls.

Demon stone is exactly the game I was actually thinking of, good one.

And yeah BearHug that rig you posted a link too would def be more then enough. We all learn that lesson the hard way, I had two gaming laptops (Alienware, ugh) that both went bad after less than two years due to heat issues.

Hey we love feedback like this! The other thread discussed a sub-forum for finding play times, not building that information directly into the board, which is an interesting concept.

I think this would be good info to have for team-building, and could help users get more casual games going throughout the week. Eventually I would hope everyone was on Mumble in their spare time and could find pick-up games there, but I do like the idea of maybe pre-scheduling games.

Maybe I make a post saying: hey, I got time to play a few games tomorrow, I'll be home around 4:00CST" and others can reply with interest in playing at that time, and discuss a room password to look for at the designated time...

Idk, let's continue talking about this and figure out what makes the most sense.

Hello all fellow doobs,

being a semi-experience player with >500 hours in dota and ~100 hours in dota2 i am willing to do some training exercises with some players this weekend.

This is great! Maybe we can have a "Classroom" in Mumble with no team seperation just a single room for things just like this. I'll be around Friday and Saturday hopefully you can teach me a few things

If you hop into Mumble on Sunday when we have our events you could Broadcast games and give tips to the players, or comment on a live-stream! See ya this weekend.

All Random or SD games are a -great- way to get familiar with heroes. I think I've still only played 2/3ish of the released heroes so far, maybe a little less! lol.

No, I don't take any offense, I just didn't receive any feedback on it so I had no idea what the opinion of it was. If its not what everyone wants, that's fine, I can take the criticism. I've a degree in art so I'm used to it. Drawing isn't my strong suit anyways, although I am learning.

Did you post the gem logo and I missed it? I remember you showed me when it was the gem and no text but that was the last I had seen.

As to a logo, the one thing we definitely NEED is a small scale-able insignia that has our name or initials on it that we can use as a button or a favicon, or to place as a overlay on Streams. The reddit-dota symbol or Love's Gem of Truesight with the Dotanoobs DN on it are prime examples. It needs to be something recognizable.

First thread like this, lets use it to post our play times during the week (besides official Doobs games!) where we'd like to get other Doobs playing with us. I realize a lot of us are usually in Mumble, but this helps solidify plans.

So I guess I'm first! My buddy comes back from his far-away University this weekend and got himself a Beta key last week, so he and I will be drunk and hanging out looking for people to play with at the following times:

Friday - 6PM CST to the wee hours of the morning
Saturday - Afternoonish, figure 2:00PMCST to about 6-7ish.

i would, but as soon as a key is used it should be removed. otherwise there would be a whole lot of extra pm'ing and pointless posts

We will just edit the first POST to contain the latest offers.

I think it should just work like Random Acts of Pizza does? People can post an [OFFER] to mentor or a [REQUEST] for help, and people can respond/reply accordingly?

CptWalmart, I think you just agreed to Moderate our new Mentoring forum

Welcome to the board Walmart! Glad to have you aboard. You've made some pretty solid suggestions for us already, and I know I've been learning things from you since our first Sunday night.

http://vip.aersia.net/vip.swf -Video Game and Internet Playlist (Filled with tons of great video game soundtrack files)
http://wap.aersia.net/wap.swf -Weebo and Anime playlist (Like VIP, but anime/jpop music)

http://grooveshark.com/#/doublelift/music - Pretty good playlist of Trance/Electronic music, playlist is maintained by CLG Doublelift (LoL player)

Other then that any rock/electronic music I have on my computer, plus good joke music (ex Pyschostick & Lonely Island)

i love the double lift playlist, how did you find that?

You can search grooveshark for users, and nab their playlists, I have one of Snoopeh's playlists in my Grooveshark account

That playlist got linked a zillion times in the /r/LoL subreddit.

and this is why i regret never doing webdev, i can make you a game, but ask me to read java script or make a website and i'm almost as clueless as the next monkey.

I ditched my latest PyGame project to start working on this site

My only criticism on the Gem logo is the DN, it needs to be more pronounced somehow. Imagine if that gem was your Avatar in game, people should be able to make out the DN from the scoreboard.

Also, I'm gonna switch the default theme of the board, because no one likes the default blue lol.

I'm way too intensely focused on the game to listen to music.

I don't really listen to music -often- when I play, but sometimes it can really help you focus and get in the groove of the game if you have it playing quietly in the bg.

I don't think we should run a thread on this if it is visible to the public and Google bots.

We could make a "Members Only" forum? Or like a hidden forum you get access too when you've hit XXX number of posts or something lol idk.
