http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/14hy72/math/
this was an interesting article i found on reddit about some mathematical stuff from dota

thought id share it here

I was really intrigued especially when he went into minus armor affecting dps in terms of %'s

Other highlights:
CM's freezing field
DPS increases because of attack speed

Basically he is showing us how much more efficient certain builds can be on heroes if you want to get more dps.

Is minus armor, attack speed, crit, or just raw damage more effective ?

Like people have said you pick your supports to compliment your team.

Like if you want some team fight wombo combo, theres some awesome wombo combo supports like CM or veno

If you trilane then you want some good set up stuns or follow up stuns, thats basically what a trilane can come down to. so like leshrac sand king earth shaker VS etc are great

Roaming ganker supports are great if you dont want to fight head on, VS earthshaker or anyone else with a set up stun are great, these supports dont need many items at all, usually just boots and maybe a blink dagger or another key item.

IMO the easiest way to pick the supports you want is to just to take a second and look at your team. think this : hmm what do we have already that i can compliment and get more of, or what are we lacking.

Like i said before if you have good roaming ganking potential, then maybe another roamer is a great choice, but at the same time if your team doesnt have alot of stuns then look at some support heroes with some good stuns, because alot of the supports at least the most popular ones have stuns or insanely good slows!

Been playing this game with a buddy of mine and WOW its alot of fun! theres so many levels and they get super intense!

I got the DLC and the game on 75% off so aside from minecraft its the best cheapest game ive ever gotten by far!

Definately recommend it if you can get it on the steam sale! not sure i would have gotten it for full price!

Playing against her so much is only going to force people to adapt to playing against her, give it some more time and you will see drow getting crushed because people will figure out how to play against her

Slardar is rediculous if you put him with the right lineup

He isnt a hard carry really but hes super strong when you pair him with other physical damage dealers like people are saying

Hes amazing in the age old "minus armor strategy" because of his ult, it can get pretty rediculous.

Power Treads -> Armlet -> Vlads is a great core item build on him.

After that its really up to you BKB and AC are great

Ive been playing around with Shiva's guard on him just because it solves his mana issues and more armor never hurt anyone, the AOE slow is another plus too!

some of you might have seen this on reddit but i thought here would be a decent place for it.

Really interesting read, especially on the emotions and motivations and practicalities of/in DotA

What's a keyboard?

i mean i can see how people can use these mice, but you never hear of anyone prominent using these, outside of the Arena WoW communities

They look awesome and they probably are really convenient i could never see using them though

You'd be suprised how much knowledge can actually transfer over from LoL!

Theres just a few concepts you gotta familiarize yourself with like Denying or how jungling is way different!

It all just takes some practice and you have to stick with it for more than a few games! but it all works out in the end!

binding the modifier key would be really cool, because it always ends up at the weirdest spot on the keyboard, and i end up just misclicking something important instead haha

One thing i heard about the NagaHex though is its a short and fat mouse so it could be a little uncomfortable

I actually don't use it because I have two buttons on my mouse and items on 1-4, but I should probably bind one of the items to space as I usually have at least 3 that I need to hit quickly and sometimes get nervous that I'll miss the number key.

Ive just played with my setup for as long as i can remember and my amount of misclicks have gone down to once in a bleu moon over the years. its just one of those things thats in the back of my mind. I think about it but its almost like second nature to make sure im hitting the right one. I also place my important items like boots or tp scrolls or mek on my 3 or 4 button because those require the least amount of effort to mess up haha
