Nice to meet you Pantsman! Are you going to be able to make it in for a few games tomorrow evening?

The system doesn't seem to be much different to me, although I haven't played with it much. Seems like the most useful addition to the system is the ability to select points along the timeline rather than just using fast forward and rewind.

I don't think we need to have someone watching each match with this feature. I think uploading the demo and having the staff review the match will be enough. Unless there is a problem all we will need to confirm is the final outcome.

Having the demos available online would be great, I think, so long as we have bandwidth. Replays are 20-40MB each.

As I said though, I have some plans for tomorrow so I won't be able to help, but I'll be available after those plans are finished to help score the games if needed.

We can try it out and see what happens. I have "unlimited" bandwidth on a shared plan, so we'll push the limits and find out. Honestly, if this project gets big enough and we want to host VOD's or something I'll upgrade to a VPS, always wanted an excuse too

Hey Doobs, just wanted to keep the community in the loop here. I've been talking with the fine people who have picked up ABXD (the board/forum software we are using) development and they are actively working on improving the board, which is outstanding (Acmlmboard has a long and colorful history and I'm glad it's not dying out).

Because of this, and the fact that this project is really getting the communities interest, I want to make sure we do things right and everything isn't destroyed by my potential error or the need to upgrade. So, here is the nitty gritty:

Sometime in the coming week I will be taking the board down for ~3 hours for maintenance. I want to re-organize the directory structure of the site, and clone it to create a "development" board where I can test all new League features etc without potentially disrupting the main board. I also then want to add the development board to a repository with version/change tracking so I can keep track of our new features and easily port them over to new versions of ABXD!

I'll make a post here and in the subreddit a good 12 hours or so before I take the site down.

What I like about it is you can insert HTML/CSS almost anywhere to make things look slick. If you find some free time be sure to play around with your "Post Layout" in your user profile, everyone can make their post-boxes unique.

I'll try to find time to style mine out as an example in the near future.

I've never heard of Acmlm before this. It seems however to have a good layout and some nice features. Looking forward to what's coming!

Acmlm was big into the ROM hacking scene years ago and developed this board from scratch for his website. It's pretty unique and has had countless reincarnations and forks/branches.

It seems like this item is listed as "core" for almost every Hero I've played around with. While I obviously see how useful it is, I think there are way better choices for some/most heroes. I tend to only get magic stick if I'm a squishy or supporty character and KNOW it's going to be a tough lane and I need the sustain.

When do you use magic stick? Do you find it useful on a lot of heroes?

Being the total noob that I am, my usual starting build for a Hero I'm not overly familiar with has been Circlet+2x(claws/boots/robe) + tango haha, I guess I'll have to give the stick a second shot.

Hey Catchy! Welcome to the community. We'll be trying to casually get us all together for games once or twice a week until we get a ladder/bracket going! So be sure to check the board and the subreddit for updates!

The absolute best way to learn is to get outplayed and stomped out. Not only does this give you a chance to reflect on your own mistakes/decisions/positioning, but you get a firsthand view at someone doing a better job than you. Take a chance to look at what your opponents did right and LEARN from it, instead of getting hot-headed.

There is really no single factor that can be used to determine skill level. I played LoL as well. I got into the 1450's when I first started playing ranked, and season 2 I stopped playing somewhere around 850 ELO. I was definitely a better player in Season2 then I was when I was 1450, so that really counts for nothing.

Well we can update the front page and post "updates" like a blog, I just haven't gotten around to it. We DEFINITELY plan on adding a guide system in time for user submitted guides, and maybe that doesn't need to be anything more then a blog interface at this point.

We can update the front page or even install a whole new system there if we want something more user-submitted content friendly, which might be a good idea.

I think it's definitely something we could and SHOULD implement at some point. We will eventually have a huge need to post updates like upcoming league events, results of league events, all sorts of stuff. I'm going to look at replacing Concrete5 with something more robust like GeekLog or something.

Yeah I would recommend bookmarking purges youtube channel as it is a wealth of great info.

Besides some casual reading while at work I haven't really watched many streams or tutorials etc. I'll be sure to spend a few hours pouring through this stuff, seems like a huge wealth of awesome info.

Thanks for the pro-tips.
