I tend to play support, and most of my shiny items are couriers and wards and such. I go through 'phases' of loving different heroes, after I collected a WR set through drops/trades I went on a WR spree, now since ranked MMR I'm loving Lina and 'Dis Raptor' since they suit my playstyle really well.

I think your favourite change a lot, dependent on your bracket (for example I used to play KotL all the time, now in higher brackets not so much), or on patching (haven't played much Rhasta since 6.79 made ward trapping objectively easier), or on a million other things.

As I said though, right now, I like blowing people up with lightning, and dragging people back into a fight *just* as they think they've escaped
*Evil chuckle*

Nice to meet you, kim! Always happy to increase the estrogen in our ranks! Kree usually sets up Ladies Night Doto on a Sunday evening, though since the doobs are multi-continental, there's usually people playing at most stupid hours of the day. Pop onto teamspeak and say hello to people

Well, after several requests (that's putting it lightly, most were demands) for photographic evidence of our mini-meet up at Epic.TWELVE, I have delivered - though I bring a disclaimer that the event was very busy, and my camera skills suck. I'll leave the pics as links so that people can load the page quickly.

Shane and I went along to Kettering, UK, for the Epic.LAN event featuring a rookload of different games, one of which being our beloved DotA. ESL held the Challenge Cup there, so teams were playing for a total prize fund of £3000. Not bad for 2 days work

We arrived at Kettering Conference centre, mostly blown there by the stupid gale-force winds that battered us most of the weekend (and kept us from sleeping), and this being my first LAN event, I was suitably impressed! Hundreds of people carted their desktops down, ready to get down to some competitive gaming.

A shot of the tournament room and Shane

The ESL guys had set up a fairly snazzy stage for the Challenge Cup to be played on, and teams were excited to get their chance to head up on stage to play.

Shane even got his own chance to cast a game with PFlax, the look of disapproval says enough. He actually was shouted at by the backstage crew on more than one occasion for his language, lol.

The Epic.LAN guys put on a Pub Quiz for us one evening, and team 'Dick Havers' rose to the challenge! We were mostly carried by PFlax for any question involving the real world, but the rest of us cobbled together for the 20% of geekery that we knew. Shane's strained protests of "I just play DotA! It's all I know!" meant he was useful for about 3 questions of 12 rounds...

Epic.THIRTEEN is in July, so the rest of you UK rabble had best get your acts together and come represent the doob community! It was scary as anything being surrounded by everyone with 5-6kMMR!

Welcome to the Doobs, Keelios

Dota 2 was my first MOBA too. It's got a steep learning curve, and an immense amount of strategy, but the more you stick at it, the more fun it can be.

Hop onto TS, introduce yourself and see if there's any games going on

PREPARE YOURSELVES, PEONS

BANDIT IS COMING TO THE US OF A

Floor seats sold out in a few seconds apparently, so I only got General Admission, but I'm going there for the atmosphere and the Doobs *shades*

Mainly the IHOP though, mainly the IHOP.

Hi Wye Knot, welcome to DN!

Could you start by telling us a little about your DotA/MOBA experience? What heroes/roles you like to play? What things you're finding you're struggling with?

Just giving us some basic information to work with would be greatly appreciated

Also, feel free to hop on TS and make yourself known! There's usually plenty of people having games

Steam ID? I'm sure there are plenty of us that would be happy to help

There's also plenty around the 3k MMR bracket, so you're in good company. Hop onto TS and I'm sure you'll find people playing. If you explain what you want to improve upon or your weak areas when you party, I'm sure people will help

I can vouch both for his peculiar ways, his random humour, and the fact he's a noob

Should fit in well, I think!

Well, after a rather masochistic decision to give my character completely over to the Lords of the Dice, I rolled my character during the Doobs meet up at TI4.

We set up the weightings for the dice so that the weird and wonderful races and classes required the highest value rolls. After some spectacularly lucky (or unlucky as the campaign may prove) rolling, I managed to get not only the Goliath race, but I'm apparently a Seeker class - which I've yet to fully discover what that is. Apparently I'm a cross between Nature's Prophet and Bloodseeker, twerking to the forest spirits in exchange for powers to hunt down my foes....

On the up side, given that my character is apparently 7"8 ish, I'm so lucky I didn't get something like a rogue. It'd be akin to the Tank from L4D using a lamp post for cover xD

Anyway, bio and some of the weird character traits and such that the dice commanded I create will be coming soon when I get home to the UK. Looking forward to being the majorly odd one out!
