Ah. Makes sense. I'm new to the item thing. In time i will figure it out.

For things that are non-mythical/legendary it typically depends on how much a person wants your particular item.

ex. I had 2 bloodseeker Bonehunter Skullguard and obviously I want to either trade or risk destroying for a better item. Well I was lucky for enough to find the BIGGEST bloodseeker fan and he wanted the helmet so he traded me 10 keys for it. This is WAY WAY WAY overpriced like maybe worth one key, but because he probably put at least that many keys into chests trying to get it. I later got offers for the same helmet along the lines of one other rare or a key.

Case and Point: If you have a rare you really want to get rid of just wait for that one crazy guy that really wants it. Its better than to just blow the chance for a better item when you delete it.

Wow you lucky lucky son of a bitchhh :OOO

I didn't even say what I got with those keys

Also anything that can play Dota2 will be able to handle both those games. Its stuff like PS2 and Crysis that will give you issues.

Yeah Dota and PS2 are in COMPLETELY different leagues as far as requirements its not even funny.

Ok so I'm going to try to answer as many questions as I can

Lane control/Last hitting is part of what you should learn, but its not exactly where you start roles would be more important

Map Awareness is something that is hard to learn, but it's as it sounds awareness. You will get a feel of safety which is what you need to know

If you are hard support (wards detection and tier two boots at 20 min is good farm) and semi support (mek pipe force staff and wards support) really depends on each game

Hope that helps

Also, if you want a good support match to watch (not pro level) you can check out my last match from last night. Played a support Dazzle. Dazzle is one of my worst heroes, but had a pretty good game:
http://dotabuff.com/matches/141733433

The key the entire match was keeping our biggest damage dealers alive. We out carried a PL and a Lone Druid.

Pfft you havnt played dazzle until you've played huskar dazzle. THAT is real dazzle game. Its hard keep a suicidal Micheal Jordan from dying.

I had a whole post ready, previewed it, and got ninja'ed

Fallen pretty much hit the nail on the head. One edit I would make is pipe is situational and vlads is luxury items on that "must be in every game" list

This sort of evolved didn't it? Initially I figured it was just a group of new players who would play a match together and get feedback on what we were really struggling with.

Well that's kinda why this thread keeps expanding, Skyop had a rough idea and now we are starting to narrow down more and more into what everybody wants to end up doing.

So what if we post alot it's not like this is an open forum for people to discuss ideas or anything right.

That is why I don't recommend tinker for new players. You have 3 damage skills, rearm, and typically 3 or 4 active ability items. Gotta know them hotkeys

Skeleton King best hero for new players.. your ults a free aegis and you have 2 passives.. so essentially hes a 1 button hero

My biggest problem with saying skeleton king is a good hero for new players is that sometimes newer players dont watch their mana so they have enough to respawn. I learned that the hard way when I was showing a friends the ropes

Dotafire, just Dotafire. Only site I've used and the only site I probably would still use if needed to know something

Can confirm that the PC port of this game is 1.) Extremely well done, and 2.) Well worth your time. If you dig games like Uncharted I highly suggest you check this one out.

Wait so what your saying is that somebody is actually successful with a pc port for once in game developer history

SimCity yields a bit more to building management and economics while Cities XL leads more to the building of pretty cities. Both are still very fun and I have personally spent way to much time on Cities, but know that SimCity 2013 is out I'm getting drawn back into it way too much.

Anybody out their play both and can offer opinions?

I find it funny that EU got 3 extra servers before NA (with arguably more players) got any. Biggest disappointment with me is that with Diablo 3 you knew you couldn't play at all. With SimCity you never know when you can because they have full servers or servers with trash can level connectivity.

I don't have a ton of playtime (I've played a friends copy), from what I've played though it is fun, but I wouldn't buy it because it would get old for me pretty quickly. Its different, but it gets stale and a bit repetitive

I really want to get into SC2 as a whole but I've never really just jumped in. Don't know where to start.

Really it wouldn't hurt considering they are remakes after 2 more generations. That said the shitty graphics and memories is just too much nostalgia for me to say that they are suitable replacements.

Something along the lines of 2 new player teams that go and do a Q&A followed by a bot game which is then followed by a new player vs new player might be an good way of practicing

I would be happy to start up a region

@fallenelf The server issues are basically solved. EA didn't prepare enough for the massive onslaught of people that wouldn't stop playing so they got filled to capacity and nobody could get in for a while. Now they added a ton more room per server and added I think 9 more servers worldwide so its fixed (although DRM still sucks) As far as gameplay its incredibly fun and addictive. Ive got a city that is profiting a couple mil a day and is losing 60k an hr. Game mechanics are solid and is the same o'l SimCity if you've played others
