I took a quick look through "Player's Handbook Races - Tiefling" and I think there is some really good stuff in there for you. The first few bits are on the background/history of tieflings in general and are worth a read, but "Divine Tieflings" section starting on page 13. There are also some little tidbits like "Speaking like a Tiefling" on page 26, "Tieflings and the Current Age" on page 32, some heirlooms that you could have on page 28. Cheers!

![]() I added your character sheet to the DropBox with references for all of the powers and feats, and a few references for the background and personality traits. I still need to post the setting, hopefully drafting that on the flight home, but one thing to note is that the adventure will start fairly far from where the goliaths are commonly found. Some goliaths work as sellswords, but as a seeker you could probably come up with something to do with seeking out new spirits for why you are out and about. After all, you need more dance moves than just twerking to be a true hero... |

Feel free to ask questions and update based on things learned during the campaigns. These are intended to serve as basic knowledge that anyone in the region would know from recent history. The story will most likely start off in Winterhaven, a small town near the Thunder Peaks mountains separating Cormyr and the Dalelands. The current year is 1479, the Year of the Ageless One.
Faerun - World The current year is 1479 by the Dalereckoning, the Year of the Ageless One. Nearly a hundred years have passed since the world of Toril was forever changed when Shar, the Mistress of the Night, convinced Cyric, the Prince of Lies, to slay her goddess sister Mystra, Mother of all Magic. The resulting Spellplague destroyed and mutilated all in its path be they mountain, man or god. The Spellplague has run its course, but its effects continue echo across all of Faerun as civilization tries to recover and evil long held at bay rears its head. Cormyr - Nation Corymyr remains one of the just nations of Faerun. Humans are the most common race found within Corymr, although other races are welcome. The elite standing army called the Purple Dragons and the War Wizards protect the nation from its neighboring enemy Sembia. Sembia - Nation Originally a small city-state connecting the west and east sides of the Sea of Fallen Stars, Sembia's wealth grew to rival that of nearby Cormyr. The trade routes of Sembia were least affected by the Spellplague, and tension with Corymr has increased as the balance of power shifts. Many races and ambitions meet in Sembia, but gold always speaks the loudest. Netheril - Nation Before the Spellplague this region was a vast desert covering a dead civilization, but now melting glaciers feed rivers that through the land bringing back life. Rumors that the ancient Netherise returned during the Spellplague have reached Corymr, and legends of their evil deeds are frequently heard from the bards traveling the nearby lands. Few dare to entire the accursed region. The Dalelands - Nation The Dalelands are composed of small, independent counties. The region is well-known for its close connection with the fey people and has had a good relationship with Corymr in the past. The growing power of Sembia has been felt more strongly here than Corymr with wealth and subterfuge already bringing some of the dales into Sembia rule. Recently Sembian hired mercenaries have encroached on the remaining dales, adding yet another difficulty for trade caravans running to and from Cormyr. ![]() Arabel - City Once a major trade city connecting the Corymr capital of Suzail to the wild Dales, Arabel has suffered greatly at the hands of the Spellplague. A permanent Spellscar called Tilverton Scar now rests between Arabel and the Dales, and trade caravans must now take the dangerous pass through Thunder Peaks or bypass Arabel all together and go due east through Sembia. Those that could left, and those that remain look for whatever work they can find be it guiding caravans through the Thunder Peaks pass or raiding those very same caravans. Winterhaven - Town This small farming town on the Dale side of the Thunder Peaks pass has grown as caravans began coming through. The surrounding area was wild even before the Spellplague, and the men and women of the area are a hardy and close-knit bunch. |

People have started getting characters ready, and we should also start scheduling a good time for everybody. I am assuming we will meet at most once a week and it should probably be on the weekends to accommodate the various timezones. Riot+Bandit, do your weekends have fairly regular schedules of free time? How about the rest of you? Cheers!

Emboldened by Bandit's wonderful rolling, Orb has also decided to leave his fates up to the dice. We are rolling tonight, but here is the basic idea:
Race Roll 1d10 and select from the list: 1) Dragonborn 2) Dwarf 3) Eladrin 4) Elf 5) Genasi 6) Half-elf 7) Halfling 8) Human 9) Tiefling 10) Uncommon race (see below) Uncommon races Roll 1d8 and select from the list: 1) Deva 2) Drow 3) Gnome 4) Goliath 5) Half-orc 6) Lycanthrope/Shifter 7) Shade 8) Reroll the common 1d10 Class Roll 1d6 and select from the list: 1-3) Common classes 4-5) Uncommon classes 6) Rare classes Common classes are the ones highlighted in the race description. Uncommon and rare classes are created by the DM as needed based on the roles and power sources. The complete list of classes is:
Skills Roll for the optional skills for your specific class. Powers Roll for the various at-wills, encounter and daily powers available. Remember that at level 1 you get 2 at-wills, 1 encounter and 1 daily. Attributes The six attribute scores are created by rolling 4d6 and keeping the highest 3. This can be done in roll20 with the "/roll 4d6k3" command. Rerolls are up to the DMs discretion, and typically scores less than 8 will be rerolled. You are free to assign your attributes as you see fit, and I suggest looking at your skills and feats as you do so. Keep in mind that your Constitution directly controls how many HP you start with, so be careful using it as a dump stat. Feats At level 1 everyone gets a single feat (humans get two). This is saved for last because of the prerequisites, and coming up with a specific list for each race/class/attribute combination may be tricky. Kree, finish that character creator already ![]() |

Riot rolled a 16 15 14 13 12 10. Not a bad score line, but he just didn't like the look of that 10. Neither did his puppy: ![]() So what is a GM to do? Well naturally you raise the stakes. UnoPolak (GM): I can roll it for you if you need the help ;-) Riot: Oh 3d6? It was 4d6 every other time. UnoPolak (GM): well sure, but this one is hardly required ![]() Riot looks skeptical. Riot : rolling 3d6 (1+1+1) = 3 No. UnoPolak (GM): ROFL Riot: Way. UnoPolak (GM): YES. DONE. Riot: No. Way. UnoPolak (GM): DONE AND DONE The dice had spoken. Before I forget, feel free to reroll that 7 using 4d6k3 on roll20 and remember that you still haven't chosen your Dilettante feature (pick an at-will from a different class and use it as an encounter power). You have high Cha and Con, so I recommend looking at Warlock (PHB1-132) and Sorcerer (PHB2-138/139). Those both have some more ranged Cha based powers, although you could also look at Ardent/Battlemind (PHB3) for some melee powers or Cleric (PHB1-63) for some utility power like Sacred Flame. GL HF!

Everyone except Vaunea and Fizzwig were traveling with a trade caravan heading from Arabel to Winterhaven and beyond. They saw Vaunea peering around some bushes and stormed forward, just to draw the attention of the kobolds that had captured Fizzwig.
OOC Some adventurers are born to fight, others wear pointy hats and look more like this... ![]() All in all there was a battle, all of the kobolds were killed (even after being captured) and our adventurers are making their way to the Drunken Druid Tavern in Winterhaven. What were your favorite parts? Anything that could be improved on? Particularly how did it feel waiting for your turn in combat? Cheers!

I took a quick look at your character sheet on roll20, and the only thing that stood out to me is that you haven't added your AC bonus for the leather armor. Put a "2" in the "Armor" category for AC and you should be good. I also decided that you should get the +1 attack bonus for the javelin and dagger regardless of if you are throwing them or not. It will simplify the macros quite a bit, and so just add the +1 bonus to the weapon entries in your inventory. Cheers!
