Yeah, I think the turns will be a lot quicker next time once macros are sorted on everyone. I really enjoyed the first session though and am looking forward to the next one!

Let's lynch him!
A full death divided evenly for each party member to take a turn. A slow, disjointed hanging ;P |

Vaunea steps forward from the back of the group at the mention of bard's last words.
"This could be the spiritual unrest I seek. I must investigate this further, and prevent the coming of this beast. The spirits have told of a great evil to be unleashed upon the world, and this wyrm could be the key." She begins collecting her things, caring little for the consent of the group before her departure. "I shall journey to Winterhaven and seek this minion of Shar." OOC: Sorry, Vaunea has really low charisma ![]() ![]() |

I know I've showed a few people these photos of me with Blind's t-shirt (which I've still not posted out, sorry Blind!), but where better to show off a potential mascot than the forums themselves?

[Vaunea's Solo Adventure, Pt. 1]
Vaunea woke with a start, her breathing heavy. Above her, a young face swam into clarity, concern etched onto her features. “Ma’am? Are you alright? You were making noises somethin’ awful.” Taking a long moment to take her surroundings, she looked up at the girl. She recognised her as one of the servants she had seen around the Inn, though the fact the girl had come to check on her struck the goliath as very strange indeed. She wasn’t aware that any time she had previously communed with the spirits in her dreams had ever had tangible effect outside of the dream. Though, she had to concede to herself that the experience she had been woken from was unlike anything she had experienced before. At home in the Galena Mountains, she had always felt a connection with the spirits in one form or another. She noticed that when she felt most connected to the spirits, her senses were keener and her arrows always fired true. The link with the spiritual realm had never been a tangible one, it was simply something she was aware of, where the world looked and felt slightly different. It wasn’t ever something that manifested further until one evening when she received her first spirit dream. Elders in her tribe had spoken of spirit dreams - often gained after long periods of meditation or fasting - however she had never expected to receive one herself. She could still vividly recall the albino panther with its strange markings, not unlike ones adorning her own skin, come to her on more than one occasion. It was always ahead of her, seeming to lead her somewhere. The more she began to accept and follow, the more it would show her. Images of places unfamiliar to her, of a spreading darkness that left her chilled even after she woke. She gradually came to the understanding that the spirit panther wanted her to seek out the source of this spiritual unrest, and redress the balance once more. It was with this purpose she had left her mountainous homeland and had journeyed far, guided only by dreams she would periodically receive from the spirits. However, the dream she had just woken from was unlike anything she had experienced before. The panther hadn’t appeared before her, this time she felt one with it; feeling the earth shift between her pads, and the faint breeze bring fresh scents before her. But the scent she caught was of fear; decaying, diseased flesh and fear. Tracking the scent further led to a large clearing in a forest, where tall mounds of upturned earth framed a gaping pit in the centre. Scents of prey of all kinds were rife; birds, foxes, badgers, and even the hunters which walked on two legs. But the animals were in cages, their screams of protest and fear barely audible over a chanting coming from the hunters lining the pit. The two-legs were watching something... waiting and chanting. Suddenly a darkness blacker than a moonless night appeared in their midst, seeming to leech the light and life right out of its surroundings. Pulling, drawing everything to its centre, feeding on all. Before she realised what she was doing, she was padding towards the darkness, eyes fixated on the centre of nothingness in its core. Leaving her concealment, her safety behind as she was drawn closer, letting the darkness envelop her, taking her within its depths. She was drowning, the shadow draining her very essence... Held there... Lost in the depths... Drowning... Drained... Empty. She pulled her mind away from that memory sharply. “Where are the others?” she asked, turning towards the girl. “I believe I heard the gnome mention something about the general store in town, though I’m not certain, ma’am.” The girl replied, still slightly wary of the half-giantess before her. “Tell them I go for a while, but be back.” She pushed past the girl, not waiting for an answer. “Yes ma’am.” The girl called behind her. OOC - I think Uno's a kind enough GM to know that we'll all get something eventually. There's just an awful lot of us, so it may take a few months to get through all 8 of us xD

I know I've been kind of tight-lipped about Vaunea, which I'd like to attribute to being an intentional way of RPing her story through the game, but in all honesty I've just gotten caught up with work and distracted with various other things.
I must admit, I've never RPed a character so different to myself. She's got crap all Charisma, which I why I keep trying to speak in small sentences, and keep my dialogue short and direct. But I've noticed that naturally I tend to slip into a formalised 'BanditRP' dialogue when I speak in character verbally. It's something I need to work on, but I'm sure I'll get better as the campaign progresses. With regard to Vaunea's interaction with the rest of the party members, she tends to be a quiet, distant watcher. I've ended up seeing her as a little like Groot, lol. It's partly due to the low Charisma, and also the fact that she was a scout for her tribe, used to being alone for long periods and watching, waiting and hunting solo. She finds the louder, outspoken members of the party to be something of a fascination. It's like you're all moving at a faster pace than she's used to, and she's kind of bemusedly watching the little people play their games whilst she doesn't want to concern herself with much other than the task at hand. Having journeyed to settle the spiritual unrest in the area, and stop a doom she doesn't yet fully understand, her membership to this party has been somewhat reluctant from the beginning. Always previously used to hunting alone, she's never needed a party before (and then a certain necklace came along, and she understands why she's probably better staying solo....). But she does respect the members of the party in different ways. Goliath's are competitive by nature, and the killing potential of the wizard she respects, although has slight mistrust for his 'burning friend and foe alike' aim. |

Satisfied that the creature would live, Vaunea headed off the tiny island, walking up the other bank in only a few of her large strides. Glancing around the other party members to assess the extent of the damage, she remembers the piercing sound her javelin made down the pit on the other side of the cave.
"There are more on the other side of the caves. The one I have marked is mine. I resume my hunt." She heads for the long tunnel she was exploring, her spirit catcher rustling from her belt. |
