The Dota Noobs front page should have an area with community streams that are online, kind of like the Livestream ticker from joindota.com
The forum should also have a place where people could check out livestream status since people probably have this bookmarked/spend more time here than on the front page. Would encourage more community members to stream and probably strengthen the community. |

We currently have them on the friends page, but we can move them up to the front page.

Did not see that to be honest, probably something on the front page like joindota.com would be better? Just having small box to links to online community streams?

On a semi-related topic, how would someone stream?

Posted by Skyop On a semi-related topic, how would someone stream? Download OBS or Xsplit, set up a twitch account. It's actually not that hard. Not sure if your comp can handle it though ![]() |

Sweet. Thanks for the info. I think I should wait until I get a new PC first.

Perhaps we should just put a "Doobs Streaming" button at the top of the main page that sends you over to the friends page.

Fallen mentioned this thread to me a week or two ago, the Twitch.tv API will let us test if a stream is online. I think we should be able to add a small box to the main-page or something, I'm adding this to the to-do list. Appreciate the suggestion it's a great idea. Keep BearHug motivated to stream if anything! |

I've limited "Upcoming Events" on the front-page to a maximum of 1 event shown at a time, and used the empty space to add a list of live streamers!
It will only show live players (e.g. if it checks /dotanoobs and we are offline, it won't show up), displays a screencap of their current stream, the game they are playing (Best be Dota2!) and the # of viewers. There are links to open both the Popup-video and Twitch-chat. If you hover over the Stream-title (e.g. BearHugDota) the tooltip will contain the name/status of the current stream. I've left TobiWan and BTS streams in the list for now so there's a chance something is live when you check it out ![]() |

Is it possible to add offline streams below online ones? That way something always shows up, even if it is greyed out.

Heya, for some reason I started getting around ~150 viewers consistently in the past few days (I'm guessing mostly due to SimCity 2013, since that's what I stream most nowadays, and I went from 18 to 570 followers in the past 10 days), can my stream get put on the doobs streams too?
I'd love to stream some doobs dota 2 games and help the community grow since I get by default 50 viewers now even if I stream Solitaire. This is my twitch thingy: http://www.twitch.tv/andrei_tv |

I have noticed an uptick in viewers since they moved to the front page.
That said... jesus, 570? I think I'd panic and quit streaming w/ that many viewers ![]() |
