The details for the ChicagoLAN on June 15th have been released here. Looks like there is a registration fee of $20 per player, which includes the PC rental at the LAN cafe as well as a raffle ticket for prizes and what not. I am confirmed as going. As for the $20 entrance fee I believe that is only for the tournament and not the overall LAN get together. However you may have to pay to rent a PC if you are not in the tournament. That is how I took it but correct me if I am wrong.

Just chatted with binary, I think that we will be aiming to get there at noon to catch the ending of the tournament and hang out. In regards to description... errr... not so tall white dude? Never found binary, but I can confirm that VultureCostume is an unambigiously non-threatening guy. Who is also tall. And funny.
