Summary
The party stripped the kobold encampment of armor and weapons, piled it high on an arcane disc summoned by Rolen and headed back towards Winterhaven. The sun had already set when they passed the guards and entered the Drunken Druid Inn. Salvana was in such good humor upon hearing of their success that she woke the cook and a barmaid to give them a late supper, and only was marginally upset when Rolen tried to give a rhythm to the tale but instead ruined a perfectly fine table. She did firmly refuse for Meek the kobold prisoner to be boarded under her roof, and upon her suggestion Rolen, Galstaff and Fizzwig arranged for one of the off duty guardsman, Eric, to keep watch over Meek in the stables. This decided and unable to see Lord Padraig until morning, the various members of the party retired to their rooms.

At morning's first light Daelius and Ruthsbaar went to the temple and then to seek a private audience with Lord Padraig. They were admitted and led to the Lord's study, where they gave a brief account of the kobold skirmish and presented the note retrieved from Irontooth. Lord Padraig was taken aback at the evidence of a cult to Shar nearby, and distressed to hear of a spy within Winterhaven. Daelius capitalized on his good rapport and asked to investigate Winterhaven on Lord Padraig's behalf. The Lord agreed since he had no one better suited to the task, although he did warn Daelius that the townfolk were very close knit and to proceed with caution and seek him as soon as they found any evidence.

The rest of the party then arrived and collected their bounty for clearing the Eastern Way, as well as presenting the Meek. Rolen had spent the morning inquiring about town for honest work for the kobold, who he was convinced was eager to repent and serve the town. The blacksmith shouted him out of her store at the mere notion of a working kobold, and at a loss of what to do Rolen asked the guardsman Eric who was still standing guard over Meek. It turned out he spoke a smattering of Draconic and had enjoyed Meek's company during the night, and suggested that Meek could serve at the Warrior's Guild if Lord Padraig agreed to it. With Meek no longer their responsibility, the party split up to begin their investigation about town. Galstaff took the precaution of conjuring a magical bell and convincing Fizzwig that is was a good luck charm to better keep an eye on him.

It was at this time that the absence of Vaunea became concerning to the party. Daelius, Fizzwig and Galstaff entered her room after their knocks are unanswered and found her still lying in bed. They confirmed that there was a pulse and shallow breathing, but their best efforts to awaken her were futile. Fizzwig detected elements of the spirit world around Vaunea, and the party decided she must be caught in a deep dream and to leave her be while the confronted the immediate problem of the spy in Winterhaven.

Daelius was first suspicious of Valthrun, not understanding how a man could spend so much time inside reading books and convinced Lord Padraig to have his guardsman keep an eye on the comings and goings of the tower. He then knocked on the tower door himself and watched Valthrun's response closely as he inquired about the name Kalarel, but could not detect anything but confusion on the old man's face. Galstaff came along and started poking the various bookshelves, trying to discover a false entrance of some kind but soon became distracted by the interesting titles on the shelves. Meanwhile Baelfius wandered about the tenement housing along the south wall, peering in windows to see if he could find anything suspicious. What he found was a barely clad woman and her screams brought the tiefling the business end of a broom and hurdled threats insulting his honor.

Pale Noon decided to inquire after the temple, and after chatting with Sister Linora about any late comings and goings from Winterhaven was pointed towards Bairwin's General Store, which did occasionally get and make late deliveries. The store cropped up again as Rolen walked about town asking various townsfolk if they had heard of Kalarel, became suspicious when a young man named Thomas begged his pardon and walked swiftly off. He managed to follow unseen and saw Thomas enter the back door of the store. Moments later Rolen saw Fizzwig dart out of the very same door, as the little gnome had been browsing the store without supervision since Galstaff had become so engrossed in the books and discussing their meaning with Valthrun.

Pale Noon had started browsing the shop and having a conversation with Bairwin when cries of "Thief! Gnome thief!" from the back of the store interrupted. Bairwin shooed Pale Noon out and closed up shop before going to complain to Lord Padraig. The party convened and decided to set a watch on all approaches to the store, and to await Bairwin's return. After an hour the shopkeeper did return and open the shop back up, at which time the majority of the party entered the shop. A casual request from Pale Noon to see a selection of tunics from the back room cause Bairwin to call Thomas to keep an eye on the shop. Fizzwig took this moment to walk in through the front door and greet his party members, and Thomas immediately recognized him and upon realizing Fizzwig was with the others he ran to the back of the shop. Close pursuit by the party found an empty backroom, but a trapdoor in the floor with stairs leading downward into the darkness.

A quick investigation of the shop floor yielded a life-like statue of a screaming gnome on a high shelf, which tingled with dark energy when Rolen touched it but felt familiar in Fizzwig's hands. In fact, Pale Noon pointed out its remarkable resemblance to Fizzwig and the party decided to take the statue along with them. Baelfius and Ruthsbaar were left to guard the trapdoor and send for Lord Padraig to come at once while the rest of the party descended the stairs. Fizzwig handed over the recently procured everburning torch to Daelius who was the vanguard, and as the party descended the gloom appeared to crowd in and cause the torch's light to dim. The stairs finally let out into an incredibly dark room, and the light only extended a dozen feet forward. Galstaff took some of Fizzwig's oil-covered pebbles and gave them a soft magical light before tossing them into the darkness. The party could just make out what looked like a carpeted aisle flanked by wooden pews before dark shapes coalesced and swooped toward the paladin and strike him with wicked looking scythes.

A close quarters battle starts as Pale Noon and Daelius try to keep the shadowy reapers and cult followers away from the rest of the party. The oil-covered pebbles are ignited by a spell from Fizzwig and the carpet in the aisle catches fire, adding to the mayhem of the scene. Several times it looked as though one or other of the party members would fall under the vicious attacks of the cultists, but Rolen's shouts of encouragement gave the party just enough energy to outlast Bairwin who succumbed to the flames and the fight turned in the party's favor. Galstaff jumped into the air and let off a scorching blast downwards, somehow avoiding the flames himself while damaging the surrounding foes enough for the paladin and halfling to finish them off.

The flames on the carpet slowly burned themselves out as the party tended to their injuries and secured Bairwin who Fizzwig and rescued from the fire, picked his pockets and then stabilized in that order. A quick investigation of the bone necklace that had been confiscated by Fizzwig showed signs of Shar carved into it, but nothing obviously arcane about it other than its fierce appearance. Fizzwig tried it on and jumped onto a nearby pew and did his best rendition of a spooky cultist to the exhausted amusement of the party. As the party continued to poke around Galstaff's suspicion of secret doors was met with success when a small room was discovered in the south wall of the chapel. Within the room a small shelf is filled with books, and the ones in Common appear to focus on Shar, and beneath the shelf rested a small chest.

OOC
Everyone that participated in the skill challenge gets 100xp, and the battle gets 140xp. The entire party gets an additional 100xp for completing Lord Padraig's quest to clear off the Eastern Way of kobolds. I think that is putting some people in the ballpark of 800xp, so at this pace I think we are looking at level 2 in a session or two. Feel free to start looking at the utility level 2 powers, and everyone will be gaining an extra feat as well. Good luck and have fun on the forums!

EDIT: Clearer experience chart
  • 100 experience for completing Lord Padraig's quest to clear the Eastern Way

    • Pale Noon, Galstaff, Rolen, Baelfius, Fizzwig, Daelius, Ruhsbaar, Vauenea

  • 100 (700/7) experience for skill challenge

    • Pale Noon, Galstaff, Rolen, Baelfius, Fizzwig, Daelius, Ruhsbaar

  • 140 (700/5) experience for the cultist battle

    • Pale Noon, Galstaff, Rolen, Fizzwig, Daelius

What do we find in the secret room? Can we roll Perception to search the entire secret temple? Is the chest locked?
Pale Noon rolls a 9 for Perception

Also, is the cult leader tied up? We should do that.
Also, are any of the books in common have any information about the gnome statuette we found and how to reverse the curse on Fizzwig?

Fizzwig creeps up on the small chest, takes out his lock picks and then searches about for the hidden lock mechanism. Finding nothing he pulls on his beard a bit before deciding brute force may be necessary. With a deft flourish he raises the little statue Fizzwig and brings it down upon the chest. A loud *crack* accompanies a small ear flying across the room, drawing the attention of Pale Noon and Daelius to the gnome's activities.

"I think the chest just open, like this" says Pale Noon. The lid falls back and a small pile of gold can be seen along with a ring containing a colorful gemstone and a rolled up piece of parchment. Pale Noon begins counting out the coins before Fizzwig can get his hands on them, and comes away with 120 gold pieces. Daelius picks up the parchment and reads aloud in common:

"Your latest shipment of supplies should meet the keep's needs until the ritual is finished, which should be within the week. I will send word if we require anything else. Rest assured that you will be rewarded for your actions on behalf of Shar once Shadraxil is released from his prison. --Kalarel"

Pale Noon then begins to peruse the shelves, skimming the books in Common and skipping those in languages that he cannot understand. They appear to just be histories of Shar and the Thunder Peaks area.

Since the ring has no magical properties, can we see if it affects the gnome statue? We can get it appraised. Are there any markings of note?

"I did not sense any magical properties about it and the only markings are this colorful gemstone. Although I noticed some strange effects as I continued to talk with Fizzwig after you had gone Pale Noon. He was very convinced I knew the best thing to do with this ring." I convinced him to tell all of us what he knows and it appears that this is some sort of ring of persuasion.

Daelius has set his sword on the pew next to the cultist leader and sat down to watch over him.

<Fizzwig> It's a ring of....

<Daelius> The heck with it. I will just put it on.

*** There is an almost imperceptible shimmer in the air around Daelius ***

<Fizzwig> Ooh Sir Daelius... you're looking so much more dashing suddenly!

<Daelius> I am pretty sure I was always this handsome my small friend

<Fizzwig> Of course you were! Hahahahaha. You're such a wit Sir Daelius! We should name ourselves the Daelius Appreciation Band.

<Pale Noon> This ring looks like... uhm... you know I really can't tell.

<Fizzwig> (Whispering) How can he not see what it is? Silly person. Shall I pick his pockets Sir Daelius?

<Daelius> (Whispering back) No no, whats his is his. We will get our share in time.
<Daelius> The ring is simply a cheap decoration.

<Fizzwig> Right you are sir! The ring is simply a cheap decoration!

<Daelius> Truth be told Pale Noon, it seems to have no special effects... but I will continue to wear it and we can keep an eye for any strange occurrences!

<Fizzwig> Heeeheeeheee.
<Fizzwig> We're keeping it a secret what it is then?
<Fizzwig> Mum's the word.
<Fizzwig> You're so devious Sir Daelius! A biggun after my own heart.

<Daelius> It seems to be a token to the great deity.....

<Fizzwig> Ah yes. A simple trinket! Not special in *any* way!!

<Daelius> You wish to keep up this ruse Fizzwig?

<Fizzwig> I don't know. Do I?
<Fizzwig> Whatever you think is best.
<Fizzwig> ...
<Fizzwig> For some reason.

<Daelius> I think we should be honest with the group.

<Fizzwig> About it being a ring of persuasion?

<Daelius> Exactly.

<Fizzwig> Well of course we should! Why would we want to be anything but straight with our companions?

<Daelius> I know, honesty is the best way to trust each other
<Daelius> to know that when our enemies are upon us we have nothing to fear
<Daelius> Because we fight together, as one

<Fizzwig> Well actually... I prefer to fight from the shadows where no-one can see me...
<Fizzwig> But I appreciate the sentiment.

<Daelius> well of course
<Daelius> and yet you fight with us

<Fizzwig> In a sense... but also in a sense... slightly apart.
<Fizzwig> And standing behind them.

<Daelius> even if you avoid harm to yourself
<Daelius> but for the same purpose?

<Fizzwig> (Continuing) And possibly eyeing up their pockets...

<Daelius> with the same goal

<Daelius> (Catching on) I don't think you should pick the pockets of our enemies anymore
<Daelius> we should all see what they have

<Fizzwig> Not until they're dead?
<Daelius> You should let the rest of the party know what you have found. It may be of importance.

*** Fizzwig rolls a 5 endurance ***

<Fizzwig> Sure sure. There's no way I'll be stealing without notifying everybody. In writing. And possibly song...

*** Fizzwig rolls a 19 to bluff and whistles the most innocent of tunes ***

<Fizzwig> Should I smash this figurine or take it to the temple and see if I can get a priests advice?

*** Fizzwig flips a coin ***

<Fizzwig> Temple. See you later good looking!

Fizzwig begins whistling a tune as he disappears up the steps towards the surface, juggling one of the magically lit pebbles. As he gets closer to the trapdoor he hears Baelfius shout down a challenge, and they have a quick chat about what happened down at the bottom of the stairs. Fizzwig then slips out of the store's backdoor and meanders towards the temple. A small crowd had gathered outside of the tenement housing, but they payed little attention to the gnome as he passed them by and entered the temple. Seeing only a woman dressed in a simple robe, Fizzwig greeted her.

Fizzwig: "Fair lady, I have a problem. This little statue looks a lot like me, and appears to be quite unhappy. My friends tried bandaging him up and in the process broke his ear off, which made him even more unhappy. Do you think you could fix him up? Other people don't like holding it, but it feels familiar to me."

Sister Linora: "Aren't you that poor gnome that some of the townsfolk were picking on in the inn? I have had stern words with them about taking advantage of other people for base amusement. Now let me see this statue. The resemblance is uncanny, and I can feel a presence inside of it. You say it feels familiar to you? And you had a run in with some cultists? I would venture that it is a vessel containing a part of you then, and can be restored with a simple ritual. I am familiar with the ritual, but it is best performed by someone that knows you well. Are you traveling alone?"

Meanwhile, Ruhsbaar returns to Bairwin's shop with two of the Winterhaven guards on his heels. After a brief conference with Baelfius at the top of the trapdoor, he leads the men down into the chapel and the carnage of the recent battle.

OOC
Feel free to expand on the Fizzwig and Baelfius interaction up at the top of the trapdoor.

Galstaff, still in the small room, opens a small mole skin notebook and takes note of the 120 gp and the ring. He systematically flips through the obvious content of the books and looks for concealed pages. He looks studious but doesn't notice anything.

Galstaff likes boxes and wants to keep the little chest. He looks over it for details.

OOC
Without objection, I think Galstaff should gather up the kobold loot and go take care of the party's accounts. Did anyone want the big axe (nonmagical) that we looted from Irontooth? Did the party sort out who's getting the chainmail?

Daelius, still sitting with his greatsword out and keeping a watchful eye on this cult leader.

Noticing Galstaff going through many of the books and making notes of what was found, "Thank you for keeping note of all that we find during our adventures. I am sure we would all appreciate if you were able to keep an account of our money and findings while we are out adventuring. Feel free to take care of that now if you wish, the cult leader is not going anywhere for the time being." Before Galstaff leaves Daelius shows him the ring that was found and asks if he might take a quick look at it to see what kind of magical properties it truly contains. If possible I would like to use this ring in the interrogation of the cultist and then we can decide who gets to hold onto it permanently.

Daelius notices Ruhsbaar and a few guards walk in, "Ruhsbaar, you have missed the battle my friend. I see you have alerted Lord Paedrig to the situation at hand. The cult leader is tied up and unconscious. Also there was a necklace with symbols of Shar on it that I believe Fizzwig is walking around with somewhere. I am sure you could ask him to see it later if you would like.

Guards, what would you like us to do with this cultist in the meantime? Does Lord Padraig desire to be present when we interrogate him."

The guards look around, shocked at the scene before them. Dealius' question brings one of them back to the moment at hand, and he visibly straightens before answering. "Yes, we should definitely bring him back before Lord Padraig. I can bring you and the rest of your companions to him and Herak can maintain guard over... this" and he gestures about the room. He walks over to Bairwin and says "Help me carry him up the stairs, and bring any thing you think Lord Padraig will want to see as evidence."

I'll hold off on what Galstaff comments on the ring until he rolls it in roll20. We can add to this post later.

Ruhsbaar enters the underground temple for the first time, the guards of Winterhaven climbing down the trap door behind him, his hand releasing the smooth rung of the ladder as his feet come to touch the stone stairwell beneath. Surveying the battle-scene before him, Ruhsbaar nods in approval to himself, happy with his adventuring parties thorough dispatching of the hidden temples inhabitants.

The guards finish their descent, and Ruhsbaar motions them down the stairs into the temple proper. Daelius the Paladin approaches the group, "Ruhsbaar, you have missed the battle my friend. I see you have alerted Lord Padraig to the situation at hand..." Ruhsbaar flashes a polite smile and thanks the Tiefling for the update, making a mental note to approach Fizzwig about the Sharran necklace as surely it is worth examining further.

Stepping aside, Ruhsbaar introduces the two guards to Daelius and Pale Noon. Dutiful as ever, the Paladin begins inquiring as to what should be done with the temple's leader, motioning to a tied up form on the floor shuffling uncomfortably beneath the shadow of Daelius' greatsword. The questioning brings the guards focus away from the bloody scene around them and back to the tiefling. The shorter of the two guards straightens to attention, "Yes, we should definitely bring him back to be questioned before Lord Padraig...", he motions to his partner before continuing on, "Herak here can maintain guard over... this" he finishes, gesturing about the room. The guard who spoke moves across the temple to where Bairwin, the shops owner and apparent temple leader, lies tied up beside Daelius, "Help me carry him up the stairs, and bring anything else you think Lord Padraig might want to see as evidence."

Urgent matters settled, Ruhsbaar turns away from the guards and begins his own survey of the temple chamber. He slowly moves about the place, looking carefully. Not necessarily for more trap doors or secrets, but instead studying the wall decorations and paging through the handful of books in the room, looking for something...

<Galstaff> So, I talked to the blacksmith and he seems to think the Dwarven Armor is genuinely worth 400-500 gp, as we feared. If I take the lower end, that leaves Pale Noon some 258 gp in the hole. It seems a little impractical that he should not have some spending coin from our finds, but I'm at a small loss of how to resolve fairness and practicality in such a situation. Personally, I doubt he'll be in debt for long if our finds continue at such a pace, but, in the mean time, "you can't drink your armor."

<Galstaff> I've sold the kobolds' gear and the greataxe nobody cared for. We have some 725 gp at present, but I've been able to value our total finds at 1132 gp. Some of the things we've recovered, such as the necklace we recovered when the caravan was ambushed, are literally priceless—as in nobody can or will pay for them, despite their dubious utility in deflecting javelins (and only javelins).

<Galstaff> I see two resolutions. One, we can just keep the party's gold together until we part ways or we are able to distribute it more fairly. As long as everyone does not do so at once, each of you could be permitted to spend up to your personal share of what we've appraised, presently 141 gold and 5 silver apiece. To me this seems elegant; it would make it easy to pay the innkeeper and other group expenses and gives us each more latitude in our spending needs. Two, we can just distribute the gold, ignore the items, and hope Tymora will bless that, if we find more useful items in the near future, we will find each of them to lend themselves uniquely to our talents so there is no more strife. I'm a wizard, not a priest, so I have no knowledge of Tymora's will in this. Each person's share would be 90 gold, 6 silver, and 3 copper.

Did you determine what the ring does?

I know the rest of the party is impartial because they have yet to receive gear that grants them a bonus in battle, but I think for the good of the group, gear should be distributed without a gold penalty. But if that armor were to be of no more use, gold profit would go to everyone else in the party. As a choatic neutral, I can't tell you exactly what Pale Noon may do if he is indebted for wearing the armor.

*scoffs at Ruhsbaar* He is always more interested in religious artifacts than the well being of his companions and friends. Before picking up Bairwin and carrying him out of the temple I turn to the party as I remember something about this ring of persuasion.

I studied these rings a bit when I was first at the Temple of Torm in Cormyr. Certain evil cults will use the rings in order to amass a following of their god. The rings give a certain edge in persuading others to do what you want. They do this by lowering the will of the wearer in order to better understand what others are thinking and desiring. It is not direct mind reading or anything but it does allow the wearer to more easily influence others around him when activated. These rings typically serve an evil purpose and invade the minds of others for your own gain. Maybe it is possible that one of you can use this ring for a more righteous purpose but I will have no part in it. And I ask that you do not use it on the rest of the party for these rings are more evil than good by nature.

I set the ring down on the pew in front of me and leave it for the others. "I will watch over Bairwin and see what information I can get from him about the cult in the nearby area. When it is done, I will make sure we do not have to worry about this cultist anymore. Be careful down here, it is filled with evil." I assist the guard in bringing Bairwin up to Lord Padraig.

As for gold and loot, I think that anyone who acquires a piece of loot shall be forfeited the price of the loot. However, this is limited to gold made during the encounter that it dropped and not ones personal wallet. Pale Noon is forfeiting 500 gp from the fight with Irontooh and since he did not earn that much from that encounter, he is forfeiting his share of that ONE fight. That is the end of it, no debt to us. That is what I see is fair.

OOC: I was able to do a religion check on the ring and get the information above. An encounter power that gives a bonus to dip/bluff/etc at the cost of your will defense. A successful arcana check may lead to more information.

In regards to non-monetary loot: A system for wealth distribution after an encounter

Loot from an encounter should immediately be divided up into three piles: Hard Cash, Normal Items, Arcane/Imbued Items. We can then process these piles as follows:

  1. Normal Items: First we need to determine if anyone in the party wants/needs any of the items in this pile and note down that they do. Next we take all of it to the blacksmith/general-store or what have you and get a cash value for it all. Items that people wanted can be distributed, and the cash value of the items they took noted down. The rest of this stuff is sold off, and the profits added to pile #3 - Hard Cash.

  2. Magical/Imbued Items: I hope that we can all agree it's worth properly identifying any special items we may find on our adventures. Knowing what an item does lets us determine if it's useful to anyone in the party and sell it for more otherwise. This might mean we are making arcana/religion etc checks to identify them or having them appraised by a third party (blacksmith/wizard). Any costs related to the identification of these items should come out of pile #3 - Hard Cash. Any items that members of the party want can now be distributed, and the cash value of those items noted down. Anything left over can be sold off and those profits of course added to pile #3 - Hard Cash.

  3. Hard Cash: The pile you've all been waiting for - our cold hard profits from the encounter. First, we take a set percentage that will be agreed upon by the party (15-30% maybe?) that moves into a "group" fund. I think Daelin can hold this group fund for us. This money can be used for paying the innkeeper or anything else like that (see Galstaff's post above). The rest of the money is now divided equally among [party members/encounter participants - which should it be?]. The gold-value of any items a player took from pile #1 - Normal Items or pile #2 - Magical Items should now be subtracted from that players share of pile #3 - Hard Cash. The money subtracted from their share should then be distributed equally among party members.

I don't think we should ever TAKE money from a player that they had before the encounter for taking loot from an encounter, that seems silly.

OOC: I agree with this.

Edit:

IC: Rolen picks up the ring and puts it in his pocket. "Clearly, there is something more to this ring than meets the eye. I'll hold onto it for now."

I agree, but i think Pale Noon should forfeit what he "could get" for the chain, not what we "think" its worth. Take it to the blacksmith, or the general store, and see what he COULD sell it for, then deduct that amount, I am not sure where to 500 gold came from, but i'm sure it wasn't from anyone saying they would pay that for the chain. Do this for all items people end up getting

<Galstaff> Oh no no no no! I was not suggesting we steal present money from the person who received excess value due to the illiquidity of the items they received! I meant that it would be a deficit against future earnings. At our present rate of expected earnings, a deficit of 258 gp would be paid off in another one to one and a half excursion, which is probably about the time that recipient of the 400-500 gp item would expect to be eligible for another item.

<Galstaff> However, I appreciate that this is a very sophisticated approach that might not be totally approachable to everyone. I know it deals with imaginary negative money that nobody can see. In fact, I consider it to be, well, a bit mercenary, if not even merchantile (a graver slander), if I do say so myself. I would not be adverse to depreciating the appraised value of items so that a single item does not place one into a usery-ous state. This is, after all, only meant to help fairness, not to enforce it by the king's justice.

We've had three verifications of the value of the chainmail: Galstaff, Fizzwig, and the blacksmith. The blacksmith doesn't have that much gold to spend, but that's what they said it should be sold for. We were hoping it was 20% of that to make it easy, but apparently in 4E magic has a fixed price (or our appraisals are all for the trade-in value). Galstaff explained about the blacksmith above:

<Galstaff> So, I talked to the blacksmith and he seems to think the Dwarven Armor is genuinely worth 400-500 gp

I also want to point out that Galstaff does not know how to turn off the sophisticated cray-cray. He's holding back as much as he can. I have advised him not to start talking about everything he learned from some Amnian merchants about balancing portfolios through commodities derivatives trading, but it's still a very near thing.

Galstaff can depreciate the value of the armor so that it's exactly one share of the party income for our first excursion. That leaves everyone in the black. This is approximately what binary described but from a net worth perspective. I doubt this will even be an issue after a few levels.

I say excursion because big loot generally comes after a sequence of encounters. We had three encounters to earn the armor, for example.

I like the party fund. Without objection I'll make it 30% for now and I can divvy it out evenly whenever it gets silly. Galstaff will tell anyone the balances at any time.

ah i did not read the previous posts. i would think 20% for the party fund would be plenty for room & board, the odd ale and what not.
