Ogre Battle 64 is a very enjoyable game, my biggest problem with it is how you dont really get to control the battle. I do want to play the SNES version of it sometime though.

If I had to list the top 3 games that I've spent the most time playing it'd be (in roughly this order):

1. World of Warcraft
2. Counter-Strike
3. League of Legends

But when it comes to ALL TIME absolute favorites... Well. That's a bit harder to sort out. There are just soooooo many games I've absolutely loved playing over the years. I'll note a few (more than 3 even):

1. Master of Monsters
2. Final Fantasy Tactics
3. Phantasy Star II (the original was pretty damned good too)
4. Final Fantasy VII (The best of the series imo)
5. Starcraft 2 (I will be playing a lot more of this as the expansions are released)
6. Rise of Nations

I totally agree with this. I mean 7 was a great game but I enjoyed 8 and 9 way more.

FF7 was great, but it just hasnt aged as well as the other PSX games. My favorite would probally still be 6 and 10 though.

Also on WoW, Pre-TBC for me. I miss the classic 40-mans.

I didnt start playing till a few weeks before BC was released. WoW was my first ever MMO, which is probably why it had such a big impact on me.

Yeah. I started WOW the week it launched and played religiously up through the Lich King xpac. 40 man raiding was so much more satisfying imo.

Just as clarification, I miss the 40 man raiding, I do not miss the 6 days of preparing to raid.. Ahn-Qiraj, damn you and your nature resist farming..

LOL. I didn't mind it at all. I remember farming for my NR set - I spent a weekend roaming Silithus with several other Guildies. We kinda made an event outta it and were even able to pick a few fights with a few Alliance that we ran into while doing it.

Preparing for content is part of the fun. Things like keys, attunements, reputation, and gear are all things in more "old school" MMO's that don't seem to be present in newer ones.

Agree 1 and 3 were awesome games. Jury's still out on this DOTA2 thing.

I'd go:
1. Goldeneye (N64)
2. Alpha Centauri
3. WoW, pre-battlegrounds

Back when Dire Maul tribute runs were necessary before Garr it was a whole different game. For those who have never played Alpha-Ci, you've got to try it. Nwabudike Morgan FTW.

I never got to play much goldeneye. Only one guy on the block had an n64 and we would just beat the shit out of each other in WcW and Smashbros all day after class.

I see your list and all I can think is "This guy clearly never played Perfect Dark 64 or Masters of Orion" haha. No but Goldeneye was a AWESOME game.

Singleplayer as well. Perfect Dark was a better game than GoldenEye all-around, but thats only because it was written on the same engine by the same team AFTER 007 was released, so of course you can do better the second time around.

I still pull out Perfect Dark and have a few buddies over to play on occasion, game is epic. Fuck that Farsight though.

Have you played the 360 version of Perfect Dark? Not a terrible version to tell the truth.

Yeah, I'll concede Perfect Dark due to the bots. 007 was just so iconic though. Insta-gib slappers, no Oddjob, Stacks. It just rolls off the tongue like my childhood was yesterday.

I totally forgot to mention Everquest, I played that game foreeeeever. Swapped over to EQ2 later on, had a blast. Was excited when it went free to play but then was dissapointed at their business model (MUST, SPEND, 300$ to unlock everything wee)
