I'm Bart and I suck at Dota.

I've played about 20 to 30 games watched a bunch of pro games, lately I've been watching some of the International games.

Watching pro's play doesn't teach be a lot though, because I don't grasp many of the basics like the different roles in a team yet it's hard to see the tactics they're using. So I'd love to tag along with someone sometime who could teach me some of the basics.

Also if someone could point me to some video's that teach the different roles in an actual game context that would be great, the videos I ran into mostly just mention the absolute basics like a carry should do this, a jungler should do that. But a video that sticks with a specific role and explains his actions throughout a complete game would be awesome.

I hear a lot about Dota 2 having a harsh community and that there's quite a lot of ranting on the chats but so far i've encountered mostly helpful people who do tell me if I'm messing up. However I'd like to learn a bit faster, just running around in a game and trying stuff out doesn't seem like the most productive way to go

Hey hey and howdy! Quite a few super new people have joined recently and I am organizing a coaching event for this Saturday. As to your other questions, the first-person gameplays by Purge can be quite helpful when starting out. He is not a phenomenal player and some of the things he says and does will be wrong, but the videos are quite conversational and can still be helpful. We also have a few videos up on our Youtube account, and a particularly helpful Q/A session. Other than that just pop on our TS3 server and let people know that you are super new and need help.
