Hello! I was browsing r/dota2 when I saw someone mention this site (Edit: Fallenelf, who I see is on here. lol) and what it was about, and decided to pop by and check it out. I'm brand new to DotA, but I have previous experience with MOBA's, having playing LoL for over 500 games. I have the basics of DotA down, namely last hitting, courier, denying, and runes, but I have trouble knowing what hero is good for me, and how to build said hero.

I do have a couple dozen bot games under my belt, and I've found I like carries more than most other roles.

I dropped into the mumble channel and played a few games, though. We managed to get 10 people, so there was an impromptu skirmish. Best game I've played in a while. lol. I'm learning a lot fast.

For some reason, DotA hasn't updated so I can't see it first hand, but from the images I've seen, I don't like it. The other method made it fairly easy to switch between looking at, say, Sven, then switching to checking out QoP's rack lore. I'm not sure how easy it will be when it's a wheel-type selection.

I'll chime in again once I've tried it.
