As I mentioned in previous posts, the new replay system allows you to download your own private matches and view them. This will be VERY useful, if it works, for officiating the tournament games. These files are located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\replays
The location, of course, depends on your own computer's settings, but once you find your steam folder you should be able to find your replay folder by following the structure.

So, if you would please follow this link and download one of my recent private game replays: http://www.mediafire.com/?kij0ddjyfbpudgb

EDIT: I had up different instructions before, so here are new ones that I have had work with one other person so far:
Download the file and put it into the correct folder mentioned above.

In steam's games library and right click on DOTA 2. Select properties and then "Set Launch Options." Type in "-console" and then close out. Then open up DOTA 2.

The console should open up automatically. If it doesn't hit the "~" key to get it to pop up.

In the console type: "playdemo replays\5655079"

Hopefully the game opens.

Let me know if it works. Thanks in advance!

Sounds sick! I'll check it out when I'm back at my home box.

BTW IF somone leaved, there will be no replay.

Vashido he is trying to make it so you can download OTHER PEOPLE's replays and watch them like you can your own. That way we can upload replays of all the league games for people to watch.

Alright guys, I posted new instructions that differ from the first. This method seems to work. Please try and repeat it.

I'll see if I can find time to give it a go. I'm going to restrict the use of the boards "uploader" feature to Full Moderators only. I assume we will have one person from our staff spectating each game that gets played tomorrow? We can promote those people to Moderator status and then they have the ability to use the Uploader to upload the replays of each game to our server.

From there we can create a public display page where users can download said replays to view them.

The system doesn't seem to be much different to me, although I haven't played with it much. Seems like the most useful addition to the system is the ability to select points along the timeline rather than just using fast forward and rewind.

I don't think we need to have someone watching each match with this feature. I think uploading the demo and having the staff review the match will be enough. Unless there is a problem all we will need to confirm is the final outcome.

Having the demos available online would be great, I think, so long as we have bandwidth. Replays are 20-40MB each.

As I said though, I have some plans for tomorrow so I won't be able to help, but I'll be available after those plans are finished to help score the games if needed.

We can try it out and see what happens. I have "unlimited" bandwidth on a shared plan, so we'll push the limits and find out. Honestly, if this project gets big enough and we want to host VOD's or something I'll upgrade to a VPS, always wanted an excuse too

You need an excuse to upgrade to a VPS?

so how exactly are you getting replays. my replays directory is empty. does it automatically save them or do you need to change an option somewhere that i can't find?

After the match you have to tell the client to manually download the replay. Its under your match history at the bottom I believe.

Like Alv said, if you view any Dota profile in client you will be able to view all of your previous match results. If you click on a match result the ending stat screen will appear and you can hit "Download Replay." Sometimes it takes a while after the match has ended before the replay is ready for download, but just give it some time and it'll come up.

Private games are only seen by you and the other players in the game. Matchmaking games are seen by everyone, so you can find your favorite pro's account and download their MM replays.
