Im surprised by how hard it seems to get a good upload in some countries, In Sweden the companies usually compete to get the best DL/UL for the best price.

In America all the ISP's agreed that everyone should offer as low of an upload as possible, and then charge for "upload" ready packages. I recently switched from Time Warner cable to ATT uVerse for internet because they offered higher speeds for cheaper, but my upload is still fucked. I'm currently running at 16mbps down and .83 up lol. |

I'm at 30up/30down and pay around $40 a month, which I split with 2 roommates that don't have computers. |

it is crooked. canadian and american infrastructure is MORE than capable of supporting much better speeds. However to squeeze money they charge you more if you want to be an active uploader by saying our regular is 39.99 with 0.75 MB/s but for an extra 10 per month we will allow up to 5 MB/s (fucking ripoff considering all they do is allow a higher bandwidth allocation on an already modulated stream, meaning it literally costs them NOTHING to do

I get 100 down and 10 up for 500 SEK per month, Which is pretty decent i feel. it is weird that your companies just got together to fuck customers over, Im pretty sure the EU has laws against that kind of "cartel"

yes, the European union has strict laws against price fixing (i believe it started a long time ago in Romania where the government sued the Telecom providers on behalf of the people)
to be honest there is no evidence towards these "cartels" here in north america, but the big providers use excuses such as "infrastructure growth" and 4G LTE development to support charging more. The really sad part is the fact that now in Canada we have these new telecom companies popping up to create competition. The big 3 are trying their best to prevent their entrance into the market (and its kinda working) |

well, if there is no competition there is cartels, your investigators better get on that! I always thought of Canada as like the U.S kinder brother, so thats pretty sad to hear. Your companies need to man up and give you the interwebs
