One day while in college, I found myself running through the streets with no umbrella or jacket as the sky decided that it was going to downpour. Caught in the rain I sought shelter under a bus stop, until a classmate hopped off the bus and offered to share his umbrella back to our dorm. When we arrived he said, "You don't own an umbrella? An umbrella is cornerstone of a gentleman's wardrobe."
With that being said, as well as the conversation that arose around a certain pocket square (Found It), what does everyone consider to be a staple of a gentleman's wardrobe? What are some of everyone's favorite sites and stores to buy said wardrobe? I love wearing cufflinks for no reason at all. Most of my friends at the office think it's stupid and a bit of a waste, but I own 20-25 sets of cufflinks that range from Ghostbusters to a Superman emblem to normal, boring shapes. I'll wear any set to almost any meeting or event I have at work and have always either gotten a laugh or had conversation spring up a around them (especially my Superman links Awesomeness). Amazon has a surprisingly good selection of cufflinks but I also love browsing around Etsy to find interesting ones. |

in canada we have a store called harry rosen, it basically is a place to get gentelmanly attire. they have all the brands you have heard of any plenty you havent.
a nice robert graham shirt held together by my favourite batman cufflinks is my casual going out wear. (im a slob when it comes to going to work, im a junior developer no need to look pretty) if anyone ever tells you the cufflinks collection is stupid. hit them, maybe you will infect them with some style. as for a pocket square, IMO it is essential in rounding off a power suit. when i purchased my suit last year, i hand picked my pocket square (red crimson with black highlighting) |

In the Pacific Northwest (where it rains for several months straight) umbrellas are seriously out of fashion and waterproof jackets are in. We usually assume people carrying umbrellas are visiting or are otherwise new to the area.

I ride my bike around a lot and just keep the jacket rolled up in my bag. The random shower's we've been getting in the DC area have made this jacket a must have. |
