... yeah, after ten months I think it's time to create a New Member Introduction thread.

So, hello there, I'm Weegee and I've kinda wasted one year with not playing DOTA 2 that much due to, uh, "matchmaking anxiety", if you can call it like that.

I've started playing DOTA 2 around Diretide 2012 and had lots of fun, so I continued playing with friends ... who already had over 500 wins and inflated my MMR, pushing me into higher skill brackets without me knowing anything back then really. Don't get me wrong, it was a great time and I'm really grateful that they got me into DOTA 2, but as soon as I started to soloqueue - flaming, bad plays and shitstorms everywhere. Which put me back to playing against bots ONLY, with some rare ventures back into pubs (with friends again though), which is why I've played around 100 public games over 12 months only according to DOTABUFF.

Also, two months ago, real life commitments started kicking in, so I couldn't even play DOTA 2 at all for over a month. I've now found some time to get back into it by playing lots of bot games, but I don't feel ready to play with either my friends or alone in soloqueue just yet.

So, basically, what I'm hoping to find is a group of nice people who aren't miles ahead of me (again, I don't want to say anything bad about the guys I've played with, it's just ... horrible to always feel like shit if you compare yourself to someone who already has lots of experience) and just want to have fun with others.


Oh, I'm a Linux user as well, so expect crashes - nah, just kidding, though I've got an abandon for not being able to reconnect to a game because my game client just kept on crashing. But that shouldn't happen anymore, heh.
