Hey Doobs! As you're all aware we have been streaming most of our Sunday night in-houses either on our channel or that of one of our members, and there are often quite a few people in the spectator channel in Mumble discussing the game as it happens. We are also reaching out as a community to other big names in the Dota-scene for recognition etc. and this will happen more-so as we get bigger and start hosting tournaments and whatnot.

In order to make ourselves more presentable to not only those we reach out too but also potential new members, I think we need to try and organize this kind of stuff a little better, and in the process can make it easier to get more coverage of our games (if two people have computers that are able to stream, maybe they should split between doobs1 and doobs2 games so we can stream them both?). Anyways, we did set up an official DotaNoobs channel on Twitch.tv. I know Alverez and I are both capable of streaming the games and many of you have this capability also. If any of you would like to volunteer to help us do the "official" streams on Sundays/Tuesdays, as well as stream random games throughout the week that are played in mumble (I think this is a point on its own, if we get a few volunteers and can have something streaming most nights out of the week, that will attract more viewers, and thus more members) let us know and we can set you up with the DotaNoobs channel key for xSplit.

The same thing goes for capturing replays and then possibly casting them after. I think on any given Sunday/Tuesday we should assign someone in the lobby to be the one to download the replay after the game. That way we can take them all, pick the one or two from each night that had the most exciting play or that offered the best example play to be able to teach the audience something, and then get some of us to do commentary over the replay and post it to the site.

We also need to create some images/video clips that we can overlay on the streams and display on the streams between games etc.

im game for any thing that can help the site/community get out there and i gladly stream/cast the replays once my new mic arrives next week. would bee cool if we had maybe teams of 2 like toby and synd because its alot easier to fill the air with 2 people

Awesome, thanks for stepping up Archaoss. Thats why I want to start threads like this and organize a little better so you know who is willing to cast and we can pair up easier etc.

now that i am free from exams, i am so willing to do this, i havent streamed before but i def have a computer that would support it. if you let me know what soft i need and what credentials i need. i would do it without hesitation.

I'm willing to help cast games, can't really stream do to disappointing upload. I'll try and get a Google Calendar set up so it'd be easier for people to know what my schedule looks like.

I'm going to make a thread where everyone can post their replays. I haven't had many to work with recently, but if you upload it, I'll do it.

i know a lot of people enter a game or replay number for their games.

even though i play quite a bit, i have no idea how to get a replay using that information. i think in the guides section you may want to add a section on how to get/save/manage/play replays.

I have a guide already. Replay number doesn't work for non-MM games. I'll post the instructions along with the thread.

Might not be the place for it but whats the minimum uprate required for say 720p/1080p streaming? Cause im fairly sure my pc is able to handle it if need be. Or else I can always be the fraps guy.

~2-3 MB/s can support 1080p

various factors influence this but that is based on standard network / bitrate requirements.

as i said in another post some time ago, if you are intersted, i can pitch a good portion of the price for a pro license.

I would love to stream some as soon as i get my damn computer back from the repair place. I should be able to stream in a quality similar to blitz-dotas stream. My internet is great but my pc isnt. I have got a "pro" xsplit license

I'll be making another thread about this later today, asking for volunteers to stream a few of our games on Sunday. I think we will also try to assign a person to download replays for each game we host this Sunday and see how that works out.
