Despite our previous efforts to ward off kitchen spam and link-bots in general on our forum board, the barrage of junk posts and fake user accounts has continued. Today, I've taken another few steps to ward off these evil bastards:

• Added a CAPTCHA to the registration page - This won't affect any of you already registered with the board, but any new members will be required to fill in one of those pesky CAPTCHA images. We hoped to avoid this, but if it helps I think it's worth it.
• Activated Bad Behavior - a plugin for the board meant to stop these malicious spam bots.

Community Question - Should we consolidate the board and cut out some of the unused forums? (e.g. Drafting and Strategy), come say hello on Teamspeak and let me know what you think!

A couple of the boards are highly specific and could be incorporated into other boards. Just my two cents.

Sadly, it seems the bots were unphased by both the Bad Behavior script and the new CAPTCHA. I've added a dota(noobs) related question to the registration form now, we'll see if that gets us anywhere

View other forums, with these spambots, and block the name conventions for these bots.

Problem with that is they will make a new bot and also some people will not be able to register, like me on BlargBoards, because their name was blocked. (for me it is a different story for blargs)
