I've been playing a lot of Crusader Kings a lot the last couple of days. Tons of fun!

Started out as a lowly duke in southern Ireland, and now I have bribed, cajoled and conquered my way to become now only the king of Ireland, but also brought the kingdom of Wales under my dominion. And by a stroke of genius (or luck) I inherited a bunch of provinces and titles in mainland europe from my mother, making me the duke of Saxon, Carinthia and Cologne!

Now I am hard at work trying to conquer land in England by forging claims on the various duchies so that I can proclaim myself emperor of Britannia!


Does anyone else play any CK2 or maybe EU4 or HoI3?? Grand Strategy games are so fun!

I own and have been meaning to try out CK2 for so long, just haven't gotten there yet. I haven't played a Europa Universalis since #2 but damn are those games fun as well

What is HoI3? I could probably be convinced to buy EU4 if you wanted to play

HoI3 is Hearts of Iron, which is a WWII strategy game, starting in 1936.

I checked my games library and found I don't actually have EU4 :< But I have EU3. I've been busy in CK2 though. I am now, after a succesful crusade against the moslems in andalusia, the king of andalusia aswell. I was granted the title by the pope for my work during the crusade

Finally, I managed to get a hold of the last of the errant duchies in England, allowing me to create the great Alban Empire (I guess it's a derivation of Albion?) From being nothing more than an irish count, I have brought my dynasty to much greatness and now hold one of the biggest powers in the world!


somehow the county of Seville has managed to slip through and is held by the byzantine empire. Now I just need to figure out what I'm gonna try and claim next. I guess the other kingdoms of Iberia should watch out. I have already seized Barcelona from the lollard heretic in Léon. All in the name of the lord, obviously.

I was gonna add a screenshot of my empire, but it turned out way to large, and I can't be bothered to resize it.

if anyone wants to play CK2 multiplayer, that could be fun. There are many interesting starts to play. And if there's any interest, there are converters so that you can continue your empire in EUx

I'm gonna start doing an AAR-thing on here, unless someone tells me to stop doing it.

Go for it, the stories can often be more captivating for a larger audience than the actual gameplay. I love reading about EVE, but never would want to actually play it
