Title says it all. I've been wondering why we don't see a semi-carry Tiny played more often. I've only seen one pro game (I think it was Na'vi) who went complete carry Tiny with an Agh's Scepter, Treads, AC, etc. He ended up having well over 3K HP and was hitting for about 350-400 damage per hit. I was playing a game last night where I went Agh's and it was pretty much over. Tanking towers is ridiculously easy. Just wondering why we don't see this very often, especially since Strength carries get the benefit of strength items giving health and damage. A little agility boost for attack speed makes this a viable build unless I'm totally missing something?

I'd argue that late game he can be shut down easily by heroes of similar level. He has two abilities with a finite amount of damage, and his right-click is really slow. He can only cast avalanche+toss once per fight and I'm not sure but I don't think it goes through Black King Bar. He can be used as a tank, but he can't hard carry like anti-mage or faceless since his right-click is too slow. He's most useful as a ganker with an advantage in levels.

Although perhaps a mask of madness would solve the right-click problem, giving you fast attack speed + cleave with aghanims scepter.

He does fall of late game compared to other "traditional" carries. On that note, my buddy and I were doing 1v1 random-mid last night, and we ended up Tiny vs his Enigma and I built "carry" -Aghs, Manaboots, Helm o Dominator - and was absolutely destroying him lol.

I played this build the other night and threw a mask of madness on Tiny. I was able to get both sets of racks before it cooled off.

I definitely understand how he can be nuked down in the late game, but wouldn't having a heart, AC, ags, MoM, treads help his survivability?

yes but thats not the point, the counter to his being a carry is that he doesnt really deal out ridiculous DPS, limited spell damage + slow right click (yes with AC its better but compared to others with the same level of farm its pretty slow)

think like this:
that build is almost 15000 gold.
for 15000 gold there are many agi carries who could ruin that tiny. yes its a AMAZING push, but a death that late is gonna be 100 seconds at least.

I mean you could spend $15k on parts for your Toyota Camery, and yeah it will be fast as fuck. But spend that same $15k on a WRX and you best believe that WRX wins every time.

Ah, all really good points. I was being a bit short sighted and not really thinking of team comp.

I guess it's a good idea to go scepter and AC if you need strong push in the midgame or a way to get racks pretty quickly. Getting a scepter and MoM up quickly isn't that hard either, esp if you have middle lane.

I've had games where I can effectively semi-carry with Tiny. But it requires playing against a team of bads where I absolutely dominate my lane - i.e. the carry I'm supporting does most the work while I stun, and steal a couple kills.

I'd argue that late game - Tiny can absolutely be a monster with Agh's and Blink Dagger. But it also requires a very good early game where at least 1 or 2 others in your team are snoballing as well.

I think the most fun thing about playing Tiny is how powerful his one single combo is, I think early-mid game that Q+W combo outshines almost any other ability set in the game. You can walk up to an enemy hero and BAM, a major stun, a brutal autoattack or two, then toss them up in the air and they come down a very very dead hero
