I got a really nice bonus during christmas time. Sadly - that got sucked up by fixing up my car. ![]() On the bright side I had some left over for some toys for myself. But sadly not enough for a new rig. Really my machine runs dammned well for what I do. I'd prefer 8GB of RAM over the 4 I have... I'm also waiting for and USB 3.0 to become more common. -PA |

Posted by binaryatrocity Just outta curiosity did you build that rig? What made you go with a Intel chip and a AMD GPU? Yeah, I built it about a month ago. I went with the intel CPU because it had the best benchmarks in my price range and ran cooler than the AMD CPUs. Went with the Radeon GPU because it slightly outperformed the similar NVIDIA card. Also, both of those choices were just slightly cheaper than their competitors. |

Yeah, I built it about a month ago. I went with the intel CPU because it had the best benchmarks in my price range and ran cooler than the AMD CPUs. AMD CPU's have always run a little hot. I've always bought AMD for my CPU's (with a few small exceptions). The heat really doesn't affect performance as long as your machine is properly cooled. Just my experiences.... |
