Hey guys,

My steam ID is Prettypenguin, a joking x-box live account that incited too much fun with opposing players to let go and has become my go to nickname.

I have been playing DotA 2 for a while and like to think I have a strong knowledge of the game and am a pretty good player, however, I know that I still make mistakes. I typically will play with friends and do some MM off and on. I am a recent college graduate who is working full time and just got married so I can only play rather sporadically. I am trying to get better at team play (proper team setup) and also just generally being a more helpful and constructive teammate when someone makes a mistake or misses something. I ran across someone talking about dotanoobs on reddit and thought you guys looked like a fun community that I will get along with and better myself with. It also looks like you guys have the potential to organize some small tournament type stuff which I would love to get into. I love the competitive aspect of the game (while maintaining a constructive attitude if at all possible).

On a side note, I have started getting into streaming as I play and would be interested in using some of these in house games on my live feed to get something different than just pubs or MM.

That is all, just a fun guy looking to expand on my DotA 2 skills with some fun people. Sorry for the long read....I write a lot when I do write.....

Let me rephrase, I don't demand proper team setup. I am more interested in just communicating when making the team to know who is doing what when we are playing some team vs team games. When I play with friends I enjoy doing immediate random and sometimes they pick around that, other times they random also. The day all random mode comes out I am there, I enjoy the chaos of that even more at times. I am also holding my breath for the day that ARDM (All Random Death Match) exists in DotA 2. That was my favorite mode in WC3 DotA.

My friends and I were running this combo for some games in MM, turned out to be quite fun. There are 2 moments in this game that were quite sweet. When I get home I will try to post the exact times in the video. Both happen near the middle of the game.

First one is the team fight that starts by Magnus getting hooked near Roshan.
EDIT: 25:50 game time.

Second is a fun surprise attack on Mirana in mid lane (Really not a good play, just makes you feel good).

This was only a lowly pub game and obviously we are not the best dota players, but it was a fun game none the less.

Watching myself in this....I need to carry tp scrolls more than I do (along with doing other things better). I am trying to get better, but too often I did not have one.

Yes please! I think this would be a ton of fun and could bring about some very interesting games/hero builds.

I would definitely participate in this if it happened.

I like getting more W than E depending on who I am fighting. Leveling up more in W increases the time it takes for you to be revealed out of your sandstorm when you move. What this means is you can hit sandstorm and immediately move without them seeing you for a bit allowing for some fun juking around in the jungle or lane.

However, Sand King is not my best hero and being able to do this is completely dependent on what heroes you are put up against.

When do you need to know by? I would like to play but I need to check if I am able first.

I'm in. Feel free to pick me last as I haven't played with you guys too much but I am always up for some dota fun.

On a side note, what is the policy if I have a friend who might want to play as well. Could we be drafted together?

Hey guys, I was wondering what we were thinking for getting ready for Saturday.

Do we want to just jump into some matchmaking together and try to get some ideas going for what we can do?

What kind of role does everyone like to play?

I have pretty much played every hero and am comfortable playing whatever role we need in the end for each game. Just thought we should get the ball rolling and start having some fun. Like I said in my previous post, I am for sure not free Wednesday. However other than that I am usually home after 6 PM EST and awake until 1 AM..ish.

Isn't 10 PM PST going to be 12 AM CST? Which would then be 1 AM EST which is pushing it for me.

Sounds good Binary. I will probably be getting home around 6 PM EST and will hop onto Teamspeak and try to make myself available. I may be playing some Amnesia with friends later, but I am sure that can be somewhat flexible.

Thanks for all the work from captains and admins. I know I had a good time even though we lost. It was fun playing with you guys again; a change of pace from only queuing up with the same friends I always do.

Hopefully I can keep playing with you guys in the future and I know I would be interested in playing in the league.

Spectre is such a pain of a hero. I have lost too many times when my team has the advantage but then my teammates get in the lets just keep farming and not push our advantage. They just ignore the spectre and 20 minutes later boom....can't kill her.

Radiance can also be used to just pick off the heroes as they try to run away from a team fight with low health, ult and let it do its work. To optimize the annoyance of her ult, I like to add a diffusal blade on top of that.

Also, I have to say I admire the scepter coordination on the opposing team. Same slot and everything.

I agree, I love a quick diffusal on carries like spectre. However, with spectre if you get enough survival items you are able to deal damage even while locked down with radiance and dispersion. I am not arguing for the scaling power of radiance, but that passive damage can be incredibly annoying.

I was the Windrunner this game and Lemonstre has it mostly correct. Your other 4 teammates had pretty strong mid game synergy and we started to pressure them and give you room for farm. However to be frank you were not finding enough as a carry. When late game rolled around you were not hitting hard enough compared to their carries and would end up being beat in fights. However, with dragon breath and your ult cleave you were able to put damage on all of the heroes. It then happened that Visage and I would finish off what we could. If you look we both had less deaths than you because we were able to survive teamfights.

I guess my insight would be, as a carry in an 1:13:00 minute game you should have more than 180 last hits, especially when given room to farm up the mid game which we were giving you. I mean no offense to your play or anything, I think that you may have queued up a bit above what you normally play at which can lead to some stressful carrying if the other team is good about shutting you down (which they were). That is my 2 cents from what I remember of the match, if you want to sit down and go through the replay I can try to talk you through some of the game and what could have changed those numbers.

Considering most taverns don't even have 20 heroes, both teams banning and picking from one just won't work out well. Also, if we don't allow banning from the other teams tavern then might as well do AP.

I am all in for the formerly discussed CM pick/ban from opposing taverns. However, I do not know what time I will be free this weekend. I will get back to you guys on that one. Sounds like fun.

We should probably have a All radiant vs All dire cage match thrown in there as well. Decide who is best once and for all.
