Hi All. Was poking around reddit and saw this site mentioned, so I thought it'd be nice for me to play and talk with other doobs. 28yo/m from Lancaster, PA. I'm an electrical engineer, but still have time for some dota in the evenings. I usually pub all pick and random to keep learning all the characters. I've really been trying to get better at my support, but I'll play anything.

Welcome aboard! I haven't been here long, but for the few days that I have, I've learned that everyone here is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, so you should fit right in. As a new Dota player, I look forward to picking your brain and getting better.

Depends on the date, but DC isn't too far of a drive from Lancaster. My wife may look at me a little weird when I ask, but I should be able to attend.

I tend to think about how best to help the supports. If you're with an invoker, something to hold someone in place is a great tool. Or if you're going to lane against 2 melee heroes, someone who can keep them off the creeps or keep them zoned out can really help your carry. CM is a great support for heroes that need mana, warlock is pretty good at keeping the opposing heroes from farming on the cursed creeps. I'm certainly still learning, and probably know a lot less than you Bandit, but these were just some of my thoughts.

Remember, these are changes to Dota1, which usually find themselves changed in Dota2 eventually. It looks like IceFrog was watching the TI3 qualifiers and fixed a lot of balance things

I was in on the Beta, unfortunately they only have it open on the weekends. I joined the Marlboro server (the only US server I think).

I have a dog event all weekend, but I may be around at night time. It's MUCH smoother than FFXIV v1, AND YOU CAN JUMP WITH SPACEBAR! Dunno if you played 11 or not, but this was kind of a cool mechanic that they stole from every other mmo. It kinda felt like they were taking you by the hand for the first hour or so, but all in all, it's better than it was. I'll hop on TS3 when I plan to get on and see if you guys are around.

My brother in law and his sister rolled tarus, or whatever they're called now. He's a ranger. Forget what his sister went. They both started in a different city than we did. I only got to level 15 this weekend due to the flyball tournament, BUT this weekend is free, so I should be around for a good chunk of it. I wasn't able to finish the PUG level15 quest in time, nor the airship quests. The GuildHest quests are super simple with a higher levels help, and give a shit load of xp and gil. LeveQuests were nice as well.

I was told that once you hit 15 and do your quest, that you can insta-level your other jobs to 15 as well. I saw ppl doing it, all of a sudden, they would level up 14 times
