I'm a regular player from Sydney Australia. I've been playing Dota 2 for about 6 months but haven't gotten any good =(
Most of my friends are high MMR so the games tend to get very serious. So I'm looking for more casual players, to try out different strats, heroes and practice teamwork (since most pubs don't communicate at all)

Are tournaments always hosted at the same time? It's just 9pm GMT is 8am for me which is too early for a weekend haha. Just wondering if games are ever played in different times? Thanks.

During what time frames are these games going to be played?

It would be good to see OD being picked up a bit more, but he;s still really squishy, has no escape so I'm not sure if this would make him much better. It might be useful to bloodseeker as well since his ulti is pure damage. On a sidenote, does that mean BKB blocks desolate & dispersion right now? Since I assumed BKB only blocked targeted spells.

Sounds like a good idea, unfortunately a lot of people don't have many items/good items due to the low chance of finding cosmetics.

I'm surprised so many people voted yes for public stats. I'm all for having a rating, like Bearhug said, just so I have something to work towards and to see if I'm improving or not. But I'm against random pubs taking 2 seconds to check my rating and start telling me to go support just because my rating is lower (I played a little bit of HoN too). I guess this problem will only be apparent in low rating games, but I think that's where it's most important. Dota is already non-noob-friendly, adding public stats can only add fuel to the flames. Just my opinion though.
