Dota2 is a game with a large number of heroes, items, and strategies. It can be a bit tough to figure out where to go to find the information you need to get started in this game.

This thread is a compilation of links and resources for Dota2 tutorials and guides. Post here if you find a guide or tutorial worth viewing.

If a mod would like to sticky this - that would be fantastic.

Youtube - Channels

EarthbakerTV: This channel has a wealth of information for anyone just starting to play Dota 2. Within this channel you will find: "Gutt3r's Guides" - which are basic guides on a number of mechanics within the game, and the "Ten Game Guides" which go over what you need to know for you first 10 games of any particular hero.

Dota2Guide: A channel with short guides for all of the champions that have been released in Dota2. You can also find these guides by going to their website, DotaCinema.com. It contains not only these guides, but a number of community submitted videos as well.

PurgeGamers: Purge is a high(ish) level player that provides a lot of helpful commentary in his games as well as a number of tutorial videos.

Websites

PlayDota: This is the official Defense of the Ancients website. While much of the information pertains to Dota 1 - it's largely relevant to Dota 2.

Dota2 Wiki: The wiki for Dota2 information. If you need to look up any hero, term, item, etc. - go here first.

DotaFire: A community site filled with guides. At the moment it's the best (and only) site available for comprehensive guide information. Take some of them with a grain of salt, as any noob can write a guide. Generally higher rated guides will contain more useful information.

SoloMid: Solomid is a progaming team with a great community site for MOBA gaming. Their guides section has just finished. In time - this site will likely have some of the best guides available to the community.

CyborgMatt: This blogs provides and in depth analysis of Dota2 patch content. Each week CyborgMatt goes through the new content brought to us by Valve. It's a great place to see how new Heroes are coming along.

Dota 2 Stats: This is a site built using Steam's own API to collect Dota 2 match statistics. You can view those heroes that have the highest win rates in pub games, and by creating an account through this site - you can view your own performance with various heroes.

Gippo Dota: This is a very new blog (started April 2012) from an experienced Dota 1 player with commentary on playing Dota 2. Already he's had some great item analysis and strategy commentary. This should turn out to be a great blog.

Guides

An introduction to every item in the game: A video by Purge where he goes over every item in the game and what they are generally useful for. It's an hour long video of just talking - but worth it.

Gutt3r's Laning Guide: This is a fantastic video on discussing the laning phase. It goes over a bunch of theory, strategies, and why these things are important while laning.

Creep Stacking and pulling: This video was the best explanation I've found on what stacking and pulling is.

How to outlane noobs: Another informative video by Purge. This video takes 3, 10 minute matches. It discusses the process of outlaning, the mistakes many newer players make, and how to take advantage of those mistakes.

Basic Warding: A useful video from DotaCinema to understanding wards, what they do, and what to initially do with them.

Dota jungling guide: Written for Dota 1 on playdota.com - all of the information in this guide is relevant to Dota2. This does not cover HOW to jungle, simply the mechanics of neutral creeps within the jungle.

Reddit Hero Discussions: This is a list of hero discussions to be found on /r/dota2. If you are looking to learn a specific hero better, then review these discussions: they will provide a lot of information on how to better play/build that hero. Some heros are discussed more than once.

Console command list: A complete list from the Dota2 wiki of every console command in the game. By default, you can access the console by typing: `

Updated this thread. I've removed slashdota as this blog hasn't been updated in 2 months and added 2 new blogs to the list of links: CyborgMatt's patch analysis and Gippo Dota: Dota 2 strategy.
