Hey all, KG here. Just turned 24, majored in biomedical engineering at University of Virginia, and now I'm in grad school in Boston. Played a lot of Dota 1 back in the day, but now I'm trying to get used to the new game dynamics and items/heroes that were introduced since I stopped playing. Had a ton of fun playing last night; looking forward to next week!

Welcome AugDawg! I actually lanned some AoE Conquerors a few months back with 7 other friends - 4v4 ... that game is so fun. AoM was really fun too, although I wasn't a huge fan of AoE III.

I saw AoE III on Steam all the sudden, I've never played. Is it not worth the effort? I did play Rise of Nations and that was a pretty awesome RTS.

I've never played Rise of Nations, so I can't make any comparisons, but AoE III just wasn't for me. Maybe it was the mythic/medieval aspects to the earlier games that was so appealing, or the fact that I just grew up playing AoE II so it's very nostalgic for me. You may try it and find that you like it though.

Reading about your rigs really makes me sad, they put my notebook PC to shame

I can relate to this; I've played in the in-houses using my Dell D820N Laptop that I bought my freshman year of college (2006). I can't even read the text on some of the items because of my limited resolution. NBD.
