Hey everyone, I was reading some joindota's news commentaries and someone linked this forum (can't recall his name since it was like a week ago). As I was looking for a friendly community doing inhouses and playing together I was really excited, so I bookmarked the forum to make sure I'd post after my exams and here I am..!
So, I'm not new to dota; I used to play dota 1 on dotacash.com, I mean I know the basics and stuff and I'm still pretty bad but I'm not a total newbie.
As for Dota 2, I played less than 6 hours as you can see on my steam account, mostly solo vs bots, and 1 or 2 matchmakings with my friends. The account I am using was my friend's one, he showed me Dota2 and gave me the account (very nice from him!!), so my first matchmaking games are not me playing. I hope the fact that I didn't play so much isn't a downfall, especially since I'm gonna play much more from now on, practicing solo games and (hopefully not) feeding in public matchmaking
I'm really looking forward to play some games with you guys, especially inhouses, to improve my game knowledge and stuff! Do you have a dota 2 channel, steam group or something?
I saw that you have a mumble, but as I don't have a mic people would probably not notice me lol, and anyway no one would understand what I would be saying since I'm a french guy with the worst accent you'd ever hear..

So what can I say about me? Well, as I mentioned I'm french (I know that american people don't really like french people, but I'm a nice guy!), I'm 20 y/o, I can read/write english pretty well (I guess? you tell me lol), and at the moment I can play almost every day. Ah, and ofcourse I love dota! I love to play almost every single hero in the game, and I can play most of them at least decently (as decent as my poor level allows me to). Skipping the hobbits and boring stuff about my life which nobody cares about. I'm european but I don't mind AT ALL playing on us servers, at least US East (never tried West), I actually prefer playing there, that's why I was playing dotacash on dota 1, not gonna lie but pubs (idk about privates) on US servers are way better than European ones, everyone speaks english, tries to teamplay and stuff, which is way more enjoyable than 2 russians flaming a ger because he didn't let them mid and then flaming each other during 30 mins in their native languages..

Welcome, even if you cant speak on Mumble, i would recommend downloading it at least to listen to, as it is by far the easiest and best way to communicate in game! I think there is a sticky forum somewhere that details how to get it setup.

Don't worry about being new, its kind of what this is all about! I am new myself...only about 35 wins or so, but playing with these guys is still a good time.

I already have mumble don't worry about that, so yeah I'll come and idle tonight as soon as I'm playing, should I go see someone or should I go to a solo channel or..? If people are ingame they won't see my messages on mumble anyway!
And I'll make sure to provide you with bread, cheese and whine, and for the bravest of you I even have some snails

Best thing to do is just jump on mumble and introduce yourself via typing. Someone will most likely say hello (if they're not afk) once you enter the channel anyway.

P.S. I have a friend who is actually flying back from France today. She loves it there.

You need to just get your webcam hooked up and then find Shane in mumble... the rest will "work" itself out.

All joking aside, just jump in a channel and introduce yourself! You can chat to the channel, but I would recommend saving up and getting a mic if you want to play any serious dota. Its not required but it help soooooo much.

I know how better it is with a mic, and I'm also really annoyed about that, money isn't the problem but since my computer is in the lounge I'd be able to speak by night time only, and with a low voice.. but I'll see what I can do!

As for Sunday I'd be really happy to be part of those games, maybe I should add you on steam or something? Would be easier/faster than mumble I guess

You should talk with Gambit about speaking in a low voice. His dulcet tones lull me to sleep sometimes .

I would jump in mumble then just type in game to people. Suicide does that and it works out alright.

Yeah, a good number of us have the text-to-voice enabled on Mumble. I now equate Suicide with a robotic female.
