Hi, partypeople!

My name is ParaPara and I´m from Germany. Some of you may have seen me in some DotA-chats spreading stupid stuff under the name of "Hellequinn123", maybe even yesterday while the Ogar was casted. I actually heard about DotaNoobs in Pyrions casts first and when I saw today that you also have some "Drunken DotA" events I decided that you are pretty cool and I should get registered here for sure.

I play DotA for about 5 years, but always watched it way more than actually playing it. I play about 10 games a week, mostly all of them on one evening while having tons of beer with some friends. I thought a lot about casting myself in the manner of "Drunken DotA", but sad thing is, due to fact that I´m a pretty poor dude I can´t afford a new computer any time soon, so I have to stick to DotA1 still. On the other hand I´m German, and like most Germans do, I´m not that good with the language from across the pond. Maybe these two factors will change in the next year, so I can actually put some effort into my hobby.

But for now, thanks for having me. Lets do to Noobs what happened to Nerds, make them cool.

Clockwork always has been one of my favorite heros. Nice game and fun to watch. Would like to see him picked more often, as well as Dazzle. ^^

Sadly not. :/ Ready for a laughter? Got 1,9 GHZ and just 896 MB RAM together with an ATI Radeon X1250. I actually got a Beta-Key for DotA2 and had Steam installed some time ago, but starting it alone took me some hours, so I deinstalled. Sad story, really.

Talked about that yesterday in the Ogar-chat. BKB totally blocks (obviously) all forms of pure damage. What comes into mind would be Chens Test of Faith, Butchers Meat Hook, Enchs Impetus, Tinkers Laser and ODs Arcane Orb.

From my point of view to a certain extent this is a question of name-giving. BKB makes you immune to magical damage, so I don´t get why it should render you immune to pure damage. A way more interesting question would be, whether changing it could make pure damage imbalanced. It sure would not regarding skills that do a certain amount of damage which have a maximum, like Laser, Test of Faith or Meat Hook. They won´t scale that good in late game and therefore get weaker the longer the game gets. Still, it´s different with Impetus (to a certain extent) and above all with Arcane Orb.

So, first question is, should pure damage go through BKB in your opinion, and second is, would that make OD overpowered?

Regarding the latter question, I don´t think so. It sure would change the hero, because of the massive amount of damage he would still capable of doing all the time in the late game. So, he maybe could be, besides QoP, one of the few INT-heros who are actually able to carry a game. In opposite to QoP though, besides of his ult he still would be a single target hero without escape mechanism and a squishy one in addition.

It does block Spectres pure damage, yes.

I tend to mostly repeat the statement of the competetive scene, that SB is a terrible hero. On the other hand, played a 5 some days ago and the opponents had BH and SB, so the first one roamed the jungel, found me, the latter one charged and they killed me together. That was pretty powerful in my opinion.

So, do you think the reason why he is not seen in competetive is because of his skills or that he doesn´t fit in the usual laning right now?

Mate brought me a computer, able to play DotA2 now, albeit with bad graphics. But hey, better than DotA1 still. Didn´t think the transition would be that rough though. I´m really struggling with it. On the other hand, only played 2 games so far. ^^

So, how does this stuff with teamspeak work?
