With writers. On the front page. News, and guides. I think it would be cool.

I'll post more ideas later - right now they're just kinda brewing in my head and I'll express them when they're more fully formed. What I want to know however is this: Might this be a plan already in place for the site?

Well we can update the front page and post "updates" like a blog, I just haven't gotten around to it. We DEFINITELY plan on adding a guide system in time for user submitted guides, and maybe that doesn't need to be anything more then a blog interface at this point.

We can update the front page or even install a whole new system there if we want something more user-submitted content friendly, which might be a good idea.

Blogs are a lot of work, though. Would you be able to volunteer to do the writing?

No, you're right.... and I would be. I think probably the site/community would need to expand a bit before it'd be a realistic idea to keep up with. I just was thinking it'd be cool to see regular updates and articles for Dota2 info up there. Similar to what I've seen for Surrender at 20 or GG Chronicle for LOL.

I think it's definitely something we could and SHOULD implement at some point. We will eventually have a huge need to post updates like upcoming league events, results of league events, all sorts of stuff. I'm going to look at replacing Concrete5 with something more robust like GeekLog or something.

I'm also in favor of having that sort of thing just on the main website, we could switch the site over to WP or something similar if we wanted to make it more blog friendly.

If you're interested in having the blog integrated with the board, I've written a blog frontpage for ABXD, which is pretty simple.
I made it a plugin for ABXD 3.0 but if you're interested I can give you the code for 2.2.3 (though it's really messy)

It takes all the threads in a forum as blog posts, and people can comment in the threads. take a look at my forum's front page. Very simple, maybe that's not what you're looking for, but who knows

Wow Dirbaio your board looks awesome! I think what you have for your front-page would be perfect, and we could implement a separate page for Hero Guides etc. Can you give us any kind of ETA for ABXD 3.0? I'd really like to start our major changed with the new version, plus the plugin system you have integrated seems awesome and I'd like to utilize that as well, maybe make some of my desired changes as plugins so others can benefit!

So, create a forum where only staff can create threads but everyone can see and reply, set the forum ID on line 117 and you're done

(On my forum I replaced index.php with the blog and renamed the board index to board.php, but that requires rewriting too many links, so probably you'll want to put it in blog.php)

On the subject of 3.0... We don't have an ETA, but it'll probably take long
Maybe we'll release a preview version or something when we get a stable version or something... Anyways you can always get the latest code directly from github

Cool, I'll fiddle with it later tonight. I did install the latest commit from github @ http://www.dotanoobs.com/dev/, but I wasn't able to log in after installing. I didn't really get a chance to play with it class was letting out so it might just be user error
