So.... after this weekend I've played nearly every hero at least once (Kunkka, Spectre, Leshrac, and Punga come to mind as heroes I still need to play). Some two or three times. I just thought I'd post my initial observations of the Dota 2 hero roster.

* Coming from a LOL background - it's overwhelming how much hard CC there is in Dota2. That said - there is also a very noticable lack of gap closers and easy escapes. This makes pure melee heroes as vulnerable as they can be deadly. It's also probably the reason why this is my worst kind of hero to play.

* Huskar is a bullshit hero that needs a significan nerf before this game goes live.

* It feels like Spectre could use a minor buff. I haven't ever met one who does significant damage, and she's supposed to be a carry?

* I can't believe how horribly I died to Bloodseeker after seeing how easily he can really be shutdown.

* Shadowfiend is definitely harder than he looks. I had an incredibly tough time with him. After my mechanics improve a bit more, I'm looking to revisit him.

* I love playing Morphling but can't figure out his replicate to use it to it's full potential so I tend to just default to Drow Ranger when I'm feeling indecisive. <3

* Tiny at level 16. Rush and Aghnamin's. Swing a stick. Oh... throwing people is so much fun.

* Supporting in this game is so much more fun than in LOL because there is so much more that a support has to keep track of. Crystal Maiden and Witch Doctor top my list for favorite supports. Sometimes however, I just pick Nature's Prophet only so the other team does not.

* It feels like INT heroes don't scale as well late game as AGL and STR heroes do. Am I being silly?

* I don't yet have any go-to mid/late game builds for any sort of hero. In fact, I still very much rely on the suggested item builds.

I could not agree more on this point. It's so frustrating to try and run from a gank in this game. Seems almost impossible in most cases.
