I'm currently at work (oops), so I need to keep this short, but I'm excited about the sit so I wanted to post as quick as I could. My name is Nick, and I'm from Chicago, IL, so in addition to being really cold, I'm constantly confused about whether the US East or West server is best for me (heh). I played DOTA 1 way back in the day for a couple years, but took a break from gaming throughout most of college to focus on studying.
Well, now I'm back, and though I've had DOTA 2 for a couple months, I feel like there's still so much for me to learn. So I came here to hopefully meet up with some nice people, get better at the game, and have a whole lot of fun. My steam id is 'blooom_' though I'm using the name 'bloom' as my screen name, if you want to play with me! I usually play aggressive supports, but can also do mid lane and long lane solo. So I just wanted to say hi, and that if I can't find a thread about it, expect a conversation about how to set up hotkeys (I want to know some good setups!). |

I like this idea. I cam on during the tournament (just to watch) and found it a little difficult to find out where to go. Probably because all of the team groups were up, which cluttered the TS3 a little bit, but I think a 'LFG' channel would be awesome for people to jump in, find four other doobs to play, and just go for it. A channel like that could also help people find other members to make a group for that league I keep hearing about, since it'll allow people to see everyone who doesn't have one yet.
And bioenglish, I'll try looking you up on steam when I get home from work tonight and see if you want to play a MM match! My steam id is 'blooom_', btw |

hey all! I think this is the right place to put this thread, but if not, just move it to where it needs to be.
Anyway, I was wondering if some of the more experienced players could talk a little bit about how they set up their hotkeys. I think that, once players start getting the basics down, they should re-route their hotkeys (or set them in the first place) to help make certains tasks easier, like selecting the courier or using items. But I've looked on some streams/VODS and seen some pros do some pretty weird things (at least to me) with hotkeys, such as setting their items to 'QWER'. Does this mean they move their abilities down to 'ASDF', or up to '1234'? Does anyone re-route their abilities to the middle of the keyboard, and then put all of their other keys around that? I'd love to hear what people do with their hotkeys, as well as the rationale behind it. tl;dr talk about the how and why of your hotkey/keyboard configuration. |
