DotaNoobs Coaching Program - Official Launch
DotaNoobs is proud to announce the beginning of our officially sanctioned coaching system. Besides being an awesome and rage-free place to enjoy our favorite game, we want to also provide a one-stop shop for new players and MOBA refugees to learn the basics of DotA 2 and be shaped into a competitive but friendly Doob. We've had a few people show a real interest in coaching, including the fine folks that previously ran "RedditClass" and we're ready to get the ball rolling and implement an organized system to allow current and future Doobs to reach out to thse awesome and experienced DotA players for help. There has been a lot of internal discussion on various methods for coaching and we want to focus on two for now: One-on-One assistance (you and the coach), and the learning-themed inhouses on Sunday nights. Keep an eye out for a weekly "Sunday Learning Inhouse Signup" thread to be posted on Mondays, starting this week (November 5th). Make sure you visit the board during the week and reserve yourself a slot if your interested in participating the following Sunday. Unfilled slots (or extra games that night) will be open to anyone in TeamSpeak, but we cannot guarantee you'll get into a learning game on Sunday if you haven't signed up! The current "Coaching Sessions" section of the forum board has been purged, and is now available for 'One-on-One' assistance requests. Check the sticky-thread for a proper request format and make a post if you want personalized help from our Coaches, whether it be general game mechanics, help with a specific hero, or more advanced techniques. Our coaching staff will work to pair you up with a qualified coach and arrange a session or two for you. The DotaNoobs coaching initiative will be led by two of our oldest and well respected Doobs, Shane and Gambit with support from the rest of the staff. They will be responsible for screening potential coaches and keeping this running smoothly, so please reach out to them with any questions, ideas, comments, or concerns. Be on the lookout for a "Meet the Coaches" sticky thread in the 'Coaching Sessions' forum soon where offical Doobs coaches will post a bit about themselves and their experience with the game. We've also added a "Coach" badge to our wonderful new TeamSpeak 3 server. All official DotaNoobs coaches will have a green [C] badge next to their name. This is something we give out to players we feel are qualified to give good advice, so feel free to reach out to them with questions in-game. |
