So I've been playing this game a lot over the past few days and it's ridiculously fun. For anyone who doesn't know, it's basically Diablo 2 (important distinction there) with almost TF2 style graphics. Tenken and I started a game the other night, but I'm thinking of starting with a new class and character. Anyone interested in parting up and working through the hordes of enemies?

Luckily, you DC-ing won't affect the game! You can just hop back in whenever you reconnect. It's a little annoying getting a group game going (you have to register with Runic and then friend everyone, etc.) but it is really fun. Shennanigans and I were playing the other day as well.

I currently have a level 35ish Engineer. I'm thinking of starting an Embermage or something.

Is it more fun the D3? I wouldn't mind a farming type game so long as it's, you know, entertaining.

I'm liking it a lot more than D3. It reminds me more of D2, and I believe most of the creative team was the guys behind D2.

Well it depends what you're looking for in the game. I enjoyed D3 quite a bit on my first play through, and T2 hasn't hooked me nearly as much.

That said the co-op of T2 is supposedly better designed.

I like the art style of T2 more and I like the normal attacks+skill trees+stats. D3 was too streamlined for me. It didn't feel RPGish at all. It was more just point and click until you unlock strong attacks. Co-oping with people in T2 has been really fun, but that's mostly because Tenken and Shenannigans are both really fun!

I must confess to being a bigger fan of having abilities scale with stats/weapon power and using the runes to modify how abilities work.

D3 felt like such a wasted opportunity though. Considering how much history Blizzard have building encounters you'd think they'd be able to plug more interesting ones through the game as opposed to the handful of boss fights we got. I got more interesting challenges from running Magister's Terrace multiple times in WoW:BC than I did in D3.

Fair point! I like queuing up different abilities for each situation and leveling them as needed. I also like being able to control my stat growth!!

I like that T2 just throws tons of items at you constantly as well as tons of bosses and side quests, if you search for them! I'm thinking of starting a new veteran game tonight if anyone is interested. Maybe around 7:30 EST. I'll be the Torchlight 2 channel on TS3.

I have this game and I love it. I've stopped playing it as much though; my highest level character is only like in the 18-20 range. My favorite part of this game is how varied you can build your characters and still keep it viable. For example, I've built a tank mage and a dual-wielding melee outlander. There were a couple more amazingly fitting builds that I can't remember though.

I'd be down with playing T2 again; add me on Steam sometime. (name's the same as on here)

I've got a few characters going. Let me know when you hit level 16-20.

I hope your not all TL2'd out. I bought this game a while back to support that old D2 dev team and I had a good time with the single-player. Would certainly be up for some group multiplayer as I feel these games are more entertaining that way.

This game is to D2 what Saints Row 3 is to the whole SR/GTA series. It has all the convenience and none of the annoyances (like your pet going back to shop, having a item list so (s)he can bring you back potions/scrolls, waypoints able to send you to other players.

Let's just pick a night next week or so and all get together to play this. Granted, Path of Exile seems a tad better than this game so far but I'm sure we could beat TL2 as a group in a weekend or so!
