I tried to get this together in December, but with the holidays, it was a little tough, so I'm here to try again!

tl;dr: Captains draft tournament on January 19th and DC/NOVA/MD LAN party on January 19th

Piggybacking off the back off BearHug's great DC tournament, I'd like to try to have another tournament. Instead of randomized teams, I'd like to a drafted tournament where captains would be selected and they would draft their teams based on who signed up. Teams would have a 7-10 days to practice together and develop some strategies as well as get some awesome team logos and flags put together for in game. I'll reach out to Blaze and Zealot to see if they're free to cast and if we get enough teams (ideally around 5) I'll ask Shane if he could get Pyrion to cast the finals (unless he wants to participate of course!). Ideally this tournament would take place two weeks from tomorrow so Saturday, January 19. Depending on the number of teams that sign up, we may do best of 3 from the start and play through the semi-finals, with the finals happening a week later on the 26th.

I have a Captains list in mind, so we'll see how it shakes out. If we can field 6 teams, that would be awesome!

Now, part 2 of my post is also related to the tournament. I know a few of you have mentioned you live in the DC/NOVA/MD area, and I thought it would be fun to get people together to host a small LAN party. If you're interested in coming, let me know, and if we get enough people, we'll field a team from the party (rather than have that team drafted since we'll be in a rather small house together).

Time on the 19th is currently TBD, but will accommodate as many time zones as we can.
