Hey Doobs,

I was wondering if anyone knows a good spot to find organised teams that play and practice together. Set practice times can be a plus, but it just have to be teams that are looking for extra members to fill up their roster.

Honestly have no idea really. Maybe the inhouseleagues like Team liquid or NA dota have some teams?

There is a specific forum here for team management and organization. Should start a post there, the league details should be released by the weekend and after that I suspect that place to get a bit more popular.

Alright, thanks for the info. I saw a post for the team organisation, but it was in the deleted/old part I think or at least it looked like it wouldn't get finished.

Ha. I read the post before reading the author and the reflex thought was 'that was something eXe (the clan/community Koilin and I originated from) did'.

From my experiences so far, Koilin - there aren't set teams outside of larger scale tournament events here at the DoobFactory. However, I find that this generally means that this generally means that most people of similar MMR/W-L ratios have played together or at least know each other.

To be rather honest with you, I find this method proliferates a much better community mentality, rather than having set teams with whom you would play with for 2 hours twice a week and then, shuffle along by yourself for matchmaking. Also - it saves any matter of whining wherein the teams are lopsided, or members feel better than each other, or conversely, like they are a hinderance to their permanent team.

Haha yeah, well I thought Doobs didn't really do such a thing, so I was wondering if anyone here knew a good place to find a set team (not necessarily a community like eXe, which I'm not going back to ) to play with.

The plan was to find a team with more active members than people who'd only come online 2 hours twice a week. Not like the whole team should be online all the time, but usually at least some of the members can queue up for mm together.

For the feeling better or lesser than eachother, I dunno it's mainly a team thing. You just gotta hope that you're lucky enough to find the right people or at least get to know them fast enough to get a feeling if such things could happen. As for skill lvl I'd try to find a team within a certain mm skill bracket. You can see in which one you are if you go to "watch" -> "recent games" and then type your own name in the filter, when you've done this you go from the very high to the normal option untill you've found your name. It has to be a solo match though, so that other people haven't influenced your mmr for that game.
I know that even within brackets skill can still differ a lot, but as long as everyone puts a good amount of work in improving then it shouldn't matter imo

We ARE working on a League system within the next month here where you would form a team with other Doobs for 2-4 months and practice together while competing to reach the top of the ladder (all teams will play each-other). Once the season is over we'll do the whole thing all over again!

Maybe this will satisfy your urge to practice with a team and play semi-competitively!

Wholeheartedly support such a venture, so long as it doesn't limit current doobs from playing with other teams, outside of the league setting.

Not at all minus the standard, you have to show up or be disqualified type thing that any league would have.

Signing a non-compete agreement is going to be a requirement for the DotaNoobs league, sorry. /sarcasm
