As a new player this guy seems like he is a pub game nightmare. His two AOE attacks plus his timber chain escape seem to make him one of the more scary gankers in the game. I haven't had a chance to play him yet, but I definitely plan on doing so this evening.
Anyone have any experience in the short time he's been available. I'm thinking the first skill in the escape for survivability/first kill potential. Then from there it would depend on who I'm laning against. |

I got him in Single Draft last night; I'm too clumsy to have gotten much out of him, but he was fun to play.
We had a Tiny toss me into the thick of battle, where I'd throw off my Q which would take a major chunk of their health off, that was fun. I never quite mastered how to use the Ult well though. |

His ult is good with an AOE spell. Comboing it with Vacuum, Reverse Polarity, or Black Hole is devastating. |

Not a lot of people choosing Inigma or Disruptor in pub games though ![]() |

Thought I'd fallow up with my first post. I played a game with fellow DotaNoobs and GThunder played Timbersaw perfectly. He used him as a roamer/ganker ended up with a 20/4/23 line. Because his attacks count as pure damage if he destroys trees in the aoe we tried to engage in the jungle lanes mostly, which thankfully the other team was happy to do as well.
Items I thought worked well on TimberSaw -Shivas -Arcane Boots -Pipe -Magic Wand Mechanics -His right click is pretty much useless -Make sure to get first blood and be a pest with timber chain! -Casting timber chain and his Q at the same time combines for a nice nuke. I'm interested to see him used in a few more pro games before trying him out in pub games. |

I've only versed this guy maybe twice, I don't even know what his toolkit really consists of besides the chain-thing, I guess I should give him a whirl.

He hasn't been picked to my knowledge. They discussed him a bit on this weeks DI podcast and suggested him for a long lane solo role but to me that seems pretty wasteful. |

Alot of times yes, but if the other teams got a good support, he'll be stacking pulling, pulling the camp just below the river into the pull camp to kill the wave completely etc. thats why you'd NEED a ward to block the pull, otherwise you'll get ALOT less than you'd normally be. Like ill offlane and ill be maybe level 2 when theyre level 5 level 6.

Hey guys,
I know this thread's old, but I'd like to revive it as I've been playing Timbersaw. I've watched a couple of MMR games and read guides about him, but when playing him against bots or other players, I can't seem to farm without risking death, since he's kinda squishy early game. I read somewhere he's farm dependent and his items are quite expensive. Is he the kind of hero that merely assists or can he be used to kill heroes either one-on-one or during a team gank? |
