I like how they want to build a pc for gaming but in the intro of the parts say they took a cheaper video card.

That i7 2011 CPU is basically Intel begging people to please buy in to the 2011 platform, yes we know the next cheapest chip is $570 but you gotta trust us!
Just get a 1155 board and the $220 3570K i5 and you'll get 80% of the CPU speed (and maybe more with overclocking) or spend a few extra bucks for the i7 3770K for a CPU that outperforms the 3820 and can be overclocked. Oh, and pair it with a competent cooling system ffs. |
