Hey Doobs!
I was a little bummed out that I was unable to participate in the current season because I missed the start by like a week. So, I wanted to see if anyone was interested in either leading (probably someone that is skilled and knows what they are doing) some newer players like myself and forming a sort of learning team. I feel that being on a team is a great opportunity for new players and that this community we have here is the best place to learn. It is always best to learn form a mentor. If anyone is interested, feel free to post your ideas here and maybe we can get something going. PS: Having multiple teams isn't a bad thing either! PPS: This will hopefully be casual but I am open to any suggestions. PPPS: I am writing this just to have lots of P's in my PS's. PPPPS: Google Chrome doesn't like this many P's... |

This isn't a bad idea. I just spoke with UnoPolak about this. If you can get a team or 2 together, Uno and I would be glad to help out either both helping a single team or each of us "coaching" a team. We think it'd be really fun and a good way to learn as well.

If we are going to do this we need one more person for one team or six for two teams. Tell your friends, family, dogs and cats.

The ideal thing would be to find a group of people with similar skill and then mold them into dota prodigies

That sounds like a great plan. Like a DotA academy.

I would love to get on one of these teams. Is there a schedule on when these happen?

Not yet. We are looking for enough players. So far we have a couple captains and a few interested players. I want to have at least one team but two would be the most amazing thing to hit the planet.

I want to have at least one team but two would be the most amazing thing to hit the planet. Start with one team. Let's take it slow at first. One team, playing 2-3 games together, send replays to Uno and I. We'll do the plan outlined above. If it goes well, we'll get a second team together, with Shane and Atlas doing the same thing. After that we can do a best of 3 match or something between the 2 teams with the coaches helping the teams with decision making and such. |

Ok. I like that idea. Maybe we should hold like a briefing thing to set up what roles people will play and what hero they should use and discuss the correct way to build those characters. Idk. Just a thought.

Maybe we should hold like a briefing thing to set up what roles people will play and what hero they should use and discuss the correct way to build those characters. Idk. Just a thought. How about Wednesday evening, say 7:00 PM EST. The goal is this, to get a team of 5 relatively new players together to play 2-3 matches together. After that, send the replays to UnoPolak or myself. From there we can set up a time, probably 3-4 days later to go over the games together. Before assigning roles or anything like that, it'd be a good idea to see what everyone is thinking when it comes to team comp and roles. Rather than have someone just tell you picks, it's a good idea to figure out why certain heroes work together and others don't. It can definitely be an AP game, just assign someone as "captain." Edit: I consider most people with under 150-200 wins to be pretty new. It'd be nice if everyone had at least 50 matches played. |

That sounds awesome. That time should work for me too. I don't know international times well but that I like in the morning in London I want to say and like middle of the day in Russia. And like after noonish in eastern Asia. For anyone wanting estimations. If anyone has new friends that want to learn though. We need them.

Its 6AM for me haha. I'm not that crazy about dota. Could we have it like 2 hours later? 8AM is alright for me, cos I have something on at 7AM.

Well my time zones are screwy. Two hours might not be bad. We would have to see about people on the east coast of the US though. Once we get some more people, we can collaborate and organize a good time. Are weekends better because that can possibly work.
