First of all, I apologize if I'm not supposed to/not allowed to write guides. I'm not following the "Weekly hero review" pattern.

Anyways, I decided to contribute a little by writing a guide to Weaver, my favourite hero

Skitsurr the Weaver (or as he was called in Dota 1, Anub'seran the Nerubian Weaver) is a fragile but survivable hard carry. He's got great DPS, and can farm fairly well. In pro games he's usually played solo sidelane, because.. well... he can

Take a look at DotaCinema's intro to Weaver

STATS
STRENGTH: 15 + 1.8
AGILITY: 14 + 2.5
INTELLIGENCE: 15 + 1.5

Attack range: 425
BAT: 1.7

As you can see, he's got decent agility gain, though his strenth/int gain isn't fantastic.

ABILITIES

The Swa[r]m [Q]
Weaver launches a swarm of 12 beetles that latch on any enemy unit in their path, attacking and reducing armor until it is killed.
Range: 3000
Beetle Duration: 8/12/16/20
Damage Per Attack: 15/20/25/30
Armor Reduced Per Attack: 1
Cooldown: 36/33/30/27
Manacost: 100

This skill has several uses. It can be used to hold of creepwaves while you push, it can be used to steal tower aggro while you dive, it can be used to finish off fleeing heroes, it can be used to gain vision etc.
However, the real strength of this ability lies in teamfights. Casting this at the start of a teamfights will greatly reduce the enemy's armor.
I prefer to max this last, as it shines later on. However, one point into it for pushing is not a bad idea.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shuku[c]hi [W]
Weaver shifts out of visibility, gaining the ability to move at maximum speed through physical units--doing harm to any enemies it passes through.
Radius: 175
Duration: 4
Damage: 90/100/110/120
Cooldown: 12/10/8/6
Manacost: 60

Surge, Phase boots and invisibility all in one skill. Your bread and butter skill. This skill is simply amazing, and due to the maximum movement speed, many people tend to skip boots until they have atleast one core item thanks to this skill. This should be maxed ASAP as it's the skill that makes Weaver both mobile and survivable. Note that this skill can only damage each unit once.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Geminate Attac[k] [E]
Allows Weaver to dispatch two swarms, attacking an enemy twice.
The extra attack will not trigger other attack effects (such as critical strike) and overrides Unique Attack Modifiers.

Cooldown: 6/5/4/2.5

Your main DPS skill late game, and also a very good farming skill. It's a very simple skill. Ever 6/5/4/2.5 seconds you gain an extra attack. Note that this skill is an orb effect (Unique attack modifier), so whenever this triggers, no other orb (like lifesteal) will work. Also, the second attack will not trigger any orb effects either.
I like to max this second because of the farming speed it provides.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[T]ime Lapse [R]
Weaver warps backward to whatever position it was in five seconds earlier--regaining the HP and mana from that time. No effect on cooldown, gold or experience.
Cooldown: 60/50/40
Manacost: 150/75/0

Your second survivability skill, and your feared ultimate. This skill is downright epic. It basically gives you a second life. The cooldown is insanely low aswell, and the manacost goes from 150 to a whopping ZERO. It can also be used to juke, as it resets your position aswell as HP/MP.
You should put points into this skill at any time possible.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PROS/CONS
PROS
-Mobile
-Very survivable
-Can solo well
-Has great DPS
-VERY easy to harass with
-Extremely powerful with items
-Good agility gain

CONS
-Fragile
-Silences screws his mobility badly
-Very item dependent
-He's the most popular choice of role in pubs, CARRY.
-Below average movespeed.

If you like farming and then owning late game, then this hero is for you. If you like roaming around the map, killing people all game, then maybe you should consider other heroes...

SKILL BUILD
Cookie-cutter build:
1. Shukuchi
2. Geminate Attack
3. Shukuchi
4. The Swarm
5. Shukuchi
6. Time Lapse
7. Shukuchi
8. Geminate Attack
9. Geminate Attack
10. Geminate Attack
11. Time Lapse
12. The Swarm
13. The Swarm
14. The Swarm
15. Stats
16. Time Lapse
17 - 25: Stats

This is the build I usually go. It gives you mobility, damage and survivability. Shukuchi is maxed first for obvious reasons stated before. Geminate attack is maxed second, because of the damage and farming speed it provides. The Swarm is maxed last because it shines more in teamfights. One level is gotten early though, for pushing and scouting.
Any other build would be switching The Swarm with Geminate Attack. I'm not a big fan of this though, but it's doable.

ITEMS
Starting items:
Tangoes, Healing salves, Ironwood Branches, Slippers of agility, Ring of protection, stout shield.
A combination of those. My favourite is 1x Tango, 1x Salve, 2x Slippers, 2x Branches
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early game items:
Wraith Bands, Ring of Aquila, Poor Man's Shield, TP SCROLL.
If you need some extra damage, Wraith Bands is what you need. If you're not going for those, a PMS can also be useful. If you need some mana regen, pick up a Ring of Aquila. If you're not getting Wraith Bands, a plain Ring of Basilius works too.
You should ALWAYS carry a TP scroll.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Core
Radiance, Power Treads
You don't really need boots early thanks to Shukuchi. However, the boots of choice is absolutely Treads. It provides survivability, attackspeed and damage. Everything you need to own.
Weaver is a great radiance holder. His ability to survive for a long time allows him to deal a lot of damage with radiance. Get it before the 25-30 minute mark though, as it loses it's effectiveness lategame.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luxuries
Monkey King Bar: Provides raw damage and truestrike. Need I say more?
Daedalus: Raw damage plus the ability to crit. This item is fantastic.
Heart of Tarrasque: If you need some health, heart is the way to go. Provides insane health and health regen.
Butterfly: Any agility carry's favourite item. Gives you evasion, damage, agility and attackspeed. This item is sexy.
Manta Style: So you thought one Weaver was hard enough to deal with? Well here's three! Gives you Agility, strength, intelligence, attack speed and movement speed!
Assault Cuirass: Armor and attackspeed. You will become a monster. Helps your team greatly. Also reduces the armor of nearby enemies. HELL YEAH.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Situational
Vanguard: If you need some health regen along with damage block, get this early.
Linken's Sphere: A very popular first item on Weaver. Get this if you need more surivability, along with HP/Mana regen. Check out this Linken's Sphere guide
Black King Bar: Does your enemies have alot of disables? Then this item is a must have.
Eye of skadi: Slow, attackspeed, all stats. Yeah, this item is great.
Boots of Travel: If the game drags on, switching to these to free up a slot is not a bad idea.
Divine Rapier: Not recommended, but if you're going all in, you might aswell. This item can make or break a game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rejected
Orb effects (Unique attack modifiers). It hurts your geminate attack. Stay away from them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gameplay
Fairly simple. Get your items, pick a lane. If you can solo a sidelane that'd be great. Soling mid isn't that fantastic, but it works. If you can't do either, go dual lane, and hope that your lane partner doesn't steal your farm.

You should farm all early game, and most of mid game. Get your core, and possibly a luxury or two before you start roaming more with your team. Farm whenever you're not pushing/killing/defending. Get as many items as possible.

Late game: Kill everyone and win.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all I have for you. Constructive critisism is always welcome! Thanks for reading!

Nice guide! I like weaver it's the first ranged hero I really felt I got the hang of. I randomed one day and fell in love. I always try to rush Radiance before treads but somehow I always die lol. Thanks for the great rundown.

i disagre with going rad and treads as it makes you 2 squishy i like to go a linkins after getting double wraithband since it gives very good survive-ability. i also feel that you dont need to pick up the swarm early unless the enemy if going heavy push in which case you can freeze the lane but most of the time i don't need the negative amour in lane also getting the ring of aquila if either that or 2 x wraith bands sicne ring costs a littel bit more then wraith and ring since it would set your build back too far. also skadi is an orb btw

other wise nice guide

Hehe thanks. Rushing radiance is good if you're having a great game. If you're failing, going for surivability first (Linkens, Vanguard) could be a better option

Linkens is kind of situational in that it doesn't make you survivable against all lineups. Of course, rushing it if the team has lots of disables that linkens do block, by all means, go for it. Ring of aquila early is good for early mana regen if you're going wraith bands. The swarm early is really just a personal preference (giving vision, holding back creeps while pushing), and skipping it until lategame isn't a bad idea at all.

Also, Skadi is an orb effect on melee heroes, but it's a buff placer on ranged, and doesn't override orb effects.

Thanks for the critisism

it is an orb in dota2 if you have a life steal orb as a ranged hero it you can still get it and have the effect. the reason for rushing linkens is that the block of the one spell will be enough time for you to get your w off and get away or time lapse. the problem with getting the ring of acuila is that it delays your build too much since a wraith band and ring is about 1.5k and you could save the extra .5 for going twords you linkins or rad

With Weaver - I max Germinate first. Swarm second. Germinate creates a ridiculous amount of DPS that scales incredibly well as you gear up.

Aditionally - I think boot choice is situational. I personally don't like Powerteads as a choice. I usually prefer to go Phase boots.

Those however are personal choices. Your mileage may vary.

maxing geminate is great for helping your cs in the laning phase but you need your w so that you wont get ganked the reason for treads over phase most of the time is that you dont need the unitwallking that phase gives since your w is so much better then the active and the treads give about 200 hp which is great for having on a carry who starts out realy squishy

You really only need 1 point in his W though. But I see your point about treads. I was thinking Phase for the +DMG.

the main reason for mexing w is because early game when you are not tanky you live and die by its cooldown/uptime which is so having the 75% uptimeis huge
