I was looking at our Reddit and had a couple thoughts:
1. We should see if our subreddit can get linked on the Dota2 reddit. 2. I think you can make the staff announcement (needing webdev's / mods / etc) on /r/redditdoobs so it shows at the top and in red. 3. And this is the primary reason of my post: I think redefining our "Mission Statement" (the reddit description) to be a bit more comprehensive than a "noob league". I think this would be more inclusive and potentially lure more people to this community from varying skill levels here. Either way, many of us won't be noobs for long. Playing with some of you this weekend - there are people in this community who aren't terrible at all, and seem to only be lacking in game knowledge before they become pretty successful players. I think defining a more far-sighted statement would give many of us something to work towards. I was thinking something along the lines of this: "/r/redditdoobs is a Dota2 community that focused on improving our skill in Dota2. Whether you are new to Dota2 (and MOBAs in general) or experienced an player that is willing to coach, or if you are looking for a place to theorycraft: this is the subreddit for you. Post here with your Dota2 questions, advice, theorycrafting and requests for help. RedditDoobs is planning on a number of community events including a Dota2 League... (and then include league info in this paragraph)" My 2 gold pieces, -PA. |

Love it! This is a much better mission statement than the simple one I threw out there. This exactly the kind of group I want us to put together!
Let's add the bottom bit and get it up on the front page! I'll also look at putting up the announcement that we're looking for more help. |

Definitely love the updated mission statement! While we are called DotaNoobs and that was the initial goal, I think this little project of ours has the potential to get bigger then we are expecting, and we want to make sure we aren't limiting our potential member-base.
We do have a good 60-70 people registered already. I think we should run a few test games this weekend and though the upcoming week and make sure the system we have, which is basically just the Admins manually handling everything at this point, runs smoothly. Once the administration has a few small(er) events under its belt, then we really open up to the community (/r/dota2) and get the ball rolling. I only say this because I tried to put something similar to this together for the /r/LeagueofLegends community, and it fell apart because we had 400+ people sign up the first week and no one wanted to manually sort through all of that info. |

Post for the games is going up today. I'll link it here once its up. Get in there and upvote it if you can. Thanks |
