Yeah. That's the thing. I want to be able to play other games as well. For example, I played the hell out of Torchlight and I want to get the second one and I will probably be addicted to that as well.

Completely off topic of building a cpu, but IMO Path of Exile is better just sayin

Never checked it out. I got the first torchlight for $10 and was totally worth it. What's it like?

Also anything that can play Dota2 will be able to handle both those games. Its stuff like PS2 and Crysis that will give you issues.

Yeah Dota and PS2 are in COMPLETELY different leagues as far as requirements its not even funny.

$500 should definitely get you a pretty decent build. I recently built a quad-core AMD box for my buddy with 8gigs of RAM that only cost him about $440. Granted that was an APU but he spent too much on a fancy HTPC case so it should even out.

I know this thread is pretty old so do you have any hardware your currently looking at? I'd be happy to throw some further suggestions your way.
