damn it now i feel like an idiot, i just posted this exact same thing into another section.

So i was thinking of a great feature for this site. instead of waiting for in-house game. i think it would be nice to in your profile enter your timezone and your most common playtimes (or basically when you can play).

by doing this you can find people that have the same time scope as you and can PM them to organize games outside of full in-house events.

just wondering what people think of this?
maybe just enter this information into your bio and make it part of your posts.
possible create a forum section for this. ie. "Looking for other Doobs"?

so how exactly are you getting replays. my replays directory is empty. does it automatically save them or do you need to change an option somewhere that i can't find?

just added the server. noticed you have 50 slots, do they fill up quick on in-house events?

just as a side-note: maybe post an extended guide on which special power you get from each neutral creep. i know playdota has a pretty good one in one of its doom guides.

also i have had some exception on getting my ult at level 11. in some RARE cases i have upgraded my LVL death depending on the level of the hero i'm laning against. it has lead to some nicely executed ganks. again not something commonly done, but depending on the situation can benefit towards a good gank.

definitely worth making game signups on the boards. get the full slot of players (all 10 plus coaches). then if you want it private you can PM the game name/ password. and ensure the players are those who signup on the board. enforce this, IE. people who participate well get priority in in-house events. people who don't get warnings/bans to a fair extent. (i assume we are all civilized)

EDIT: extra note, our profiles may also want to get player classification. so new players get "doobs", mentors get "mentors" and as new players get good we can change their level from "new doob" "experienced doob" "pro doob"

ok getting back on topic, the DC port IS part of the motherboard, but is is INCREDIBLY EASILY to remove and re-solder a new part. my ASUS did this right before christmas and since my office is around the corner from their tech lab i had them fix it in a day. if you call MSI you can tell them you need your computer for important work purposes and request a rush. might be 1-2 weeks instead.

if i were you, i wouldn't wait the week. call now and ask politely. specifically ask them what steps are required for the fix. if they tell you the same thing i said earlier and it takes longer than a week. then i would call to bitch. think of it like this. the sooner you get it fixed, the sooner you get to try and gank somebody.

Under Redditdoobs directory add a daily play section. either have someone (or procedurally generate) a new thread everyday. if you're going to play on that day and want some fellow players, post your steamid and times that you play.

delete threads >1 week old. post threads 1 week ahead of that day so ppl can have time to prep/see who's playing/ cancel if need be.

i'm new to the whole training thing, but i am very patient an willing to help you learn basics like laning, hero builds and strats.

how i started when i was uber noob was playing 1 v 1 with my dota playing buddy who got me started.

he let me learn to lane etc. so i am willing to do 3v3 5v5 1v1 etc to let ppl get the basics. then get more advanced as we go

welcome, if you want to expand your knowledge you might like the occasional in-house all random game we play. lets you get some random hero to practice a bit.

dota characters in my opinion:
anti-mage (its the blades that look awesome)
windrunner
vengeful spirit
just for starters

that insignia is freaking awesome and should def be included

its nice but in my opinion too simple. i think making it too over complicated is bad, but as a starting point its not bad.

i totally forgot that items should somehow be incorporated. maybe the courier, definitely a TP scroll.


also damn all you people with 'artistic talent' as a computer programmer i am the exact opposite of "creative"

i think i win for widest assortment.

trance - ranging from light (van burren) to heavy (infected mushrooms, nightcore)
euro & dance - benni bennasi, basshunter (gotta play dota while playing dota), bob sinclar
hip-hop & oldschool rap - biggie, tupac, nwa, wu-tang
and now for the random part
classical - some random chopin / bach / mozart during a game it ensures you don't lose your focus into the music. pretty calming if your at the point of raging.

and i never understood why people like dubstep. to me it sounds like either a) a remix of a dial-up modem or b) optimus prime taking a dump

what exactly are you using to capture streams, i'd def be down to contribute to capturing in-house games that bearhug cant do for us US players.

i def have the hardware, just never got into it so i dont know the best software/method for it

ya i mentioned this earlier as mentors and whatnot, but ya i think this needs to be done. it should be one of the fundamental parts of our community
