Quick question: Does anyone know if the Win/Loss record will be wiped once Dota2 goes live? I would imagine that it would. But curious if anyone has seen confirmation from the Dev boards.

Also wondering if anyone knows if they plan on doing anything like seasons or such for team rankings / ELO / placement.

I think it would be safe to assume that they're going to wipe the stats from beta, though I haven't seen anything official from the Dev's

And personally I hope that they do implement seasons or leagues with rankings and a few ELO Placement games at the start of each "season".

The general consensus is that all player data will be wiped once the game is out of Beta, but your right no official word yet.

I'd assume once Beta is over and the game launches, every game you play will give you EXP (we can see EXP for our profile on the main page but we never earn any now). So if they didn't wipe then those numbers wouldn't match up? E.x. A beta player might have 500 wins and be level 8 but a new player might be level 10 with only 100 wins, because those 400 games were in beta?

Also, this belongs in the "Dota2 General Chat" forum, so I'm going to move it there

My assumption, and from what I've heard, it will be wiped. While the data will be kept for internal use, it should be cleaned off when the game goes live, simply for the fact that this is a beta, and things that work in here might not be working as intended and people could use known bugs to boost their score. While this could still happen outside of beta, the chances of it would be less so.

Hours of rigorous testing. My wrist is sore, my mouse battery dying, my eyes bloodshot, and my shirt stained forever with the traces of Mountain Dew and leftover Chinese food I can hardly remembering ordering, let alone leaving the chair that has become my bed.

A skin would suffice. Or one of those fancy couriers.

^ as you said one of those couriers, they have an animation for a mini-pudge. but i really want a "flying" mini pudge courier. one that looks like the wings are trying so hard to keep him flying.

With an MMO or any kind of persistent game, I understand why they need to wipe all beta progression. Considering the only thing we will be carrying over from beta is a won-loss record, I don't see why they have to in this game.

With that said, I think it's pretty much a 99% chance that it gets wiped. Standard beta operating procedure.
