Hey forum.

I'm brand new to DotA and am completely lost, lol. I've played League of Legends so I know a bit about MOBAs as a whole, but I feel DotA 2 feels like a better game. I've seen posts on this forum with people talking about a Mumble server where newcomers can go and play some games rather than braving the solo queue, and that would be awesome, so it'd be great if someone could give me the server address.

I was hoping for some help choosing a hero to play. I've been trying them out against bots for hours. I've narrowed my favourites down to Bounty Hunter and Riki, but it's hard to choose when there's so many to try.

On League of Legends my favourite character was Katarina, so essentially the things I search for in a character are fast attack speed, ability to nuke (burst damage) and to be melee not ranged. Any help? Thanks a lot.

P.S. I have also tried Luna and I thought everything about her was good apart from her attack speed seemed quite slow. Thanks.

SDP, welcome!

We're not on mumble anymore, but on TeamSpeak3 (voice.dotanoobs.com). There's usually a few people on there trying to get a MM group going and usually at all hours as there are people from EU, US, and some Aussies.

Feel free to reach out if you have any problems with TS3 or questions in general.

Greetings friend! As mentioned above, join the Team-speak server and you'll be in a group match in no time. If you would like some semi-hard incompetence, please fill free to add me. Always willing to play and learn with others. Best of luck and see you in game. Cheers!

Howdy there! I would recommend playing a few heroes to get comfortable with the game as a whole and then start randoming heroes to step out of your comfort zone. Watching streams of high-level players is also a good way to notice new techniques and strategy. Cheers!

Hello Mr. SgtDrPeppers, please enjoy the random shenanigans that will ensue on the teamspeak server.

As for your hero search, you might want to consider Tiny, Earthshaker, and Sand King in your search. Dota doesn't have much in the way of melee nukers, but you if you must insist then those are your best bets. If you can skip out on the melee part Lina, Lion, and Zeus are your best bets as they have the highest damage nukes(also all have multiple nukes) in the game. Hopefully this helps in your search.

C'mon, Admiral. Time for your tablets...

*leads him away roughly by the arm*

Ignore him, he's harmless (mostly) but it does do well to keep an eye on him. He tends to wander when let loose...

Welcome to the forums, Sergeant! About time we had some more British blood to rival those darn yanks.

If there's anything I can help with, feel free to add me. Steam id is dakheva

Quite so. I see you've met the false British contingent of our humble group, but rest assured, us true Brits are here to make a formal welcome and such. Please ignore these pretenders.
