Hi all!

Well, I've been sucked in, for better or worse. I'm pretty much brand new to this type of game, I've never really tried to play before because I've heard the rumors regarding the abuse new players sometimes receive.

I've been watching videos and replays and playing against bots for over a week now - finally got up the courage to join a public matchmaking game - but three players from the other team ended up disconnecting early, so it wasn't very beneficial.

I'm looking for people to play with and dotanoobs seems like it is really catered to helping new players get acclimated, which is something I think I really need.

So - thanks for setting up this site, and I look forward to seeing many of you in-game!

Hey there! The thing to keep in mind with public MMR is that if you are solo queuing you will be matched against other people that are just getting the courage to try a public game. Having said that, solo queue can be an unpleasant place. You should jump on our TS3 server (voice.dotanoobs.com), join a busy channel and introduce yourself. Mention that you are new and everything should be fine. We have spontaneous IHs during the week, and a bunch of MM groups forming too. Looking forward to seeing you, cheers!

Welcome mate!
Yup that is what we do here! One thing to keep in mind is that when in a party the MMR skill system thing goes for the highest in the party, but we have several rather new players so that shouldnt be a problem!

Thanks for the information all - good to know!

Perhaps I won't be quite as worried queuing up pub solo - the best way to get better is to get experience, right?

Thanks for the warm welcome - I'm sildraith on steam (http://steamcommunity.com/id/sildraith).
